New custom order GLC43 arrived but options are wrong!!!??
Hi All,
Wanted to ask the forum if anyone has ever had a custom order vehicle arrive with the wrong options and what was the outcome at the end? My vehicle arrived yesterday and I went to the dealer to sign paperwork etc. I noticed that there was a bunch of options I didn't choose added to the vehicle. Thankfully, everything I did order was also there (including the correct color but the upgraded option). So overall, there was about $5,500 CAD in extra options that I didn't order on the vehicle.
The dealer said that most likely they will have to eat these costs and give me that car. They didn't confirm this though. I will have to hear back from someone today. I don't mind as there are additional options that are beneficial to the vehicle.
Has anyone ever had this happen to them and what was the outcome? Did the dealer step up and eat the cost? Did you have to order a new car? Let's talk about it.

Exactly! I'm actually happy about it but I just wanted to see if anyone else had this issue and if possibly they were on the "bad" end of the screw up. For example, the car came in with less options than what was ordered or wrong color or something along those lines.

Although the green GTR was really nice, I can't fit my kids in the trunk so had to go with the GLC43.

I honestly don't know how that would even happen. We have never had additional equipment show up on a custom build order. We double, triple and quadruple check builds with MB and the Client. However, the orders are input by the dealership employee so whoever put in the order could have selected the wrong equipment by mistake. However, even that is a stretch because the build should have been sent to you in order to review. The only logical thing I can think of is someone that normally orders their dealer inventory may have seen your order, but there wasn't any notation of a customer name or sold notation. Thus, they could have added "easier to sell" options not knowing what was done haha. But at the end of the day, who knows.. Lots of room for human error regardless of what people think.
I can honestly say we have never had these types of errors here though.

I custom ordered my 2018 GLC43 and got exactly what was on the list. I too find it hard to understand how your vehicle could have been ordered with additional options. In the end, in my mind you should not have to pay for something that was never part of your order. Enjoy you vehicle!

I had a remotely similar issue with mine. After I test drove a used OBM/Saddle Brown used GLC43, a new OBM/Saddle Brown one, and provided a OBM/Saddle Brown build for Euro delivery, I decided to buy the new one as 18's couldn't be ordered any more and 19's weren't available for order yet. When I went down to the dealership to close the deal we went out to 'my' car to put in the all-season mats and when I opened the driver's door I was greeted with black leather! The salesperson made some excuses about trying to get as close to my build as possible but I said "every car I drove/built had Saddle Brown int, how could you think one with black int is 'close'!". Luckily we hadn't signed the paperwork and the one I intended to buy was still available so it all worked out.
