Lower module

Picking up my glc43 coupe on Friday. Saw a pic of one with lower ground clearance. How is this done and what are impacts to car?

Most likely a lowering module or links. No other impacts other than that I believe it will be a bit rougher on your suspension components depending on how low you go.

Thank you. So is it the case that modifying the ride height, with software or hardware, might void the warrantee? What is the collective wisdom of the group?

Yep it would void warranty if they believe whatever you installed has caused the problem. Don't know if MB checks if the car has been lowered when you take it in if you have a problem with the suspension.. They might check the computer to see if ride height has been changed.

Do not let the guys in here scare you from lowering your GLC. This is my 3rd MB and I have lowered each one of them. My previous two MBs were lowered on springs and the GLC is on Lowering Links. I have been to the dealer for minor stuff, TSBs and all services and not one time have they said something about my car being lowered. Now, if I hit a pothole and/or break one of the air shocks or crack a rim, and requested the dealer to fix it, they may deny me service because of the car being lowered. That's a chance you take, and I try to avoid potholes, manhole covers and other crap on the roads when I can.

There's only two options to lower the GLC. Lowering Links $199 or Renntech Lowering Module $1400. There's another lowering device that was seen on Amazon for $449 but it doesn't work with the MB touchpad interface. It only works for older Mercedes SUVs that have the Command keypad system as you have to input the values using the keypad (I reached out to the seller to confirm).

The Renntech Lowering module would be the best bet as you could adjust on the fly but it's super costly. The lowering links you have to remove them adjust it if you want to go higher or lower. I have my GLC at a perfect height to me, so I will not be adjusting any more unless I am going off roading (which I will never do).

I will take the "" as you must be affiliated or know the company for the module. I am the one who posted on the Amazon page about the GLC and watched the GL video. The response that I got was that it may not work for the new touchpad interface and I would need to send my VIN in. I sent my VIN in like week+ ago and have not heard back so I took that as it may not work.

If you know something shoot me a PM to discuss further.

Lowering model from Minsk

I bought it on eBay for my GLC63 and it works perfectly. Fast and easy. The only problem is that the ride is so harsh and uncomfortable, it's crazy!

Depends on how low you went !
I did 20mm in the front and 25mm in the rear and still comfortable in comfort mode . Harsher in sport + mode but still fine .
I love it !

Like I said 2 post up , I lowered 20mm front and 25mm rear and the ride is the same in comfort mode . When I do long trip 300 miles + I set the height to stock ,that's the beauty of that module .
