GLC AMG63S Coupe
Raise it!

Hi everyone,

I appreciate the lowering aesthetics and perfo improvements, but in my case I have other cars for it. For my GLC AMG63S Coupe I actually enjoy the opposite: Pushing the wheels out and the car up for a more "off road" kind of look. I use 20mm spacres and the OBD module to raise the car and I love the look.

Can I ask you if anyone has gone this route? raising their cars and if so, how do you achieve it? @K-Mac would you have a solution to raise the car whilst keeping the OEM air suspension?

On a separate note: Has anyone ever fit the GLE AMG63S wheels at 22" and considerably wider tires in a GLC?

Many thanks everyone!

1. Stock

3. Custom (set ur own specs)

i drove with 32mm and the car drove really well! It’s a lot flatter, and you feel more through the steering.

I then tried 40mm front and 45mm rear, and the car looked great, but ride got bouncy.

Finally decided on 32mm front 37mm rear.

Below you will find a pic I took for fun, for the seller. Car looked great slammed.

Stock Ride Height

Lowered by 32mm all round

Seller asked me to slam it down by 50-60mm. I didn’t dare go lower than 45mm front 50mm rear.

Final setup for now 32mm front, 37mm rear. As you can see, the rear gap is bigger than the front stock.

Another angle of 32mm front, 37mm rear
Hi, which module did you use? Link please, I just got my 2023 AMG GLC 43 , thank you!

When using the lower module preset of 20mm for a glc63, is the stiffness the same / similar as the factory sport+ setting?

Generally no. At least as far as I've ever been able to tell... lowering didn't increase harshness to me.

Reason being that you are just lowering the ride height, not adjusting the shocks to the stiffer "Sport" setting

I'm at -20mm front, -25mm rear, had it aligned after, and it's daily driven.

There may be more going on than this between "Comfort", "Sport" and "Sport+", but I think this best explains it comparing Stock to with 20mm drop
Stock Ride Height Shock Setting
Comfort 0mm Soft
Sport 0mm Firm
Sport+ -10mm Firm

thanks for the confirmation. Was wondering as I seen some folks post it’s harsher but they went lower than 20mm. Good to know the ride quality doesn’t change dramatically in all modes with a 20mm drop.

So with the MWMods lowering module, you can choose how much you want the front and back lowered? On their website it looks like you can select different heights (20/30, 20/40, 30/50) but I didn't see where you could select how much. Also, the vehicle I just bought didn't come with the Adaptive Lighting function, but it looks like you can use one of their modules to enable this? I'd love to have those features if this is possible. 2020 GLC 63S

We have 3 versions of the module with 3 preset modes each:
1.

- Factory (Factory level when our module plugged in for the first time);
- Low1 (Factory minus 20mm);
- ExtraLow2 (Factory minus 30mm).
2.
- Factory;
- Low1 (Factory minus 20mm);
- ExtraLow2 (Factory minus 40mm).

3.
- Factory;
- Low1 (Factory minus 30mm);
- ExtraLow2 (Factory minus 50mm).

Also you can choose your own heights for front and rear, for both low modes, and they will be saved on the module.

Adaptive HighBeam Plus is also possible to activate on your car.

To confirm compatibility, please send the VIN in PM.

Will alignment be needed for any setting or just anything-20 or lower?

My advice is always to do an alignment. A lot depends on your riding style though. If you drive quietly, you will not notice increased tire wear at -20mm.

If you're not concerned about increased tire wear, you don't have to do an alignment.

-20mm from factory height is the best height for every day riding.

-30mm from factory height is the lowest for everyday riding.

-40mm from factory height - this is the minimum height for riding (sometimes), also for nice parking lot photos.

Remember the reality - OEM a “Full Front & Rear ‘4’ Wheel Alignment”....

IS ONLY BASIC TOE “DIRECTIONAL” ADJUSTMENT !

There is no CAMBER (OR CASTER) essential to adjust tire contact angles spread load more evenly to resolve costly, premature, excess edge tire wear.

We therefore manufacture bolt on front & rear kits for other then showroom height conditions.

Catering for day to day commuting with “excess passenger side edge wear “ - through high cambered roads. Altered height through load carrying or lowering. Wider profile tires. Along with there being no (ongoing) adjustment for curb knock damage.

On complaining informed “TOE IS WITHIN FACTORY SPECS”. Then trying to counter your frustration by being told - there is no more we can do. This outcome a result of cost cutting and ever increasing speed of new car assembly lines.

I'm looking into getting a different daily driver and came across a picture of a lowered GLC 63. Man what a beauty. I'm definitely considering this car. Great information on this thread

MWM lowering module 20/30mm set to low right now. 15 and 25mm spacers. I think I’m done with the mods for now…

Love the back end shot. Should I debadge? I”ve always done it to my previous cars…

Module is so easy to use and I can’t wait for wintertime when I raise it back to stock height with 19” snow tires.

I’m so used to the old springs or coilovers for lowering but this is my first vehicle with air suspension easily modified to the height more pleasing to me.
