Hi guys, so I’m excited and want to do the rear differential fluid exchange for my 2018 AMG GLC63S. This is the first time I’ll be doing it so I want to make sure I do it correctly I’ve done a lot of research and the following is the method I intend to use. Please correct me if you see an error or have any suggestions that you’d like to make.

1. I’m going to be using Castrol SYNTRAX Limited Slip Differential Oil; 75W-140 Synthetic, 3 bottles
2. ATD Tools 5184 Black Drain Pan - 4-1/2 Gallon Capacity - to collect the spill
3. I understand I need to use a 8mm 3/8 drive socket but I’m not very confident of the exact tool that I would need. Can anybody point me in the right direction?
4. One of the videos I saw on YouTube suggested using a new oil drain plug with ring and the other plug (fuel plug?). Anybody know which part number precisely it is and where to get it from online?

Thanks in advance for your help

Thanks. Man that’s very pricey! People are being charged $200+ for rear differential service. Figured I’d help you by providing you that info

I took my 19 GLC63s in for the differential change in February--Dealer did a check and found out MB no longer requires it--Canadian car

My 19 (Non-S) definitely required it.

As I stated in other differential service related posts, if your vehicle has option code #471, it requires service @ 1850 miles according to MB- USA..

My dealer charged me $110 for this. He quoted $190, but said he expected it to take more than 2 quarts. Not sure how many its supposed to take, but that's all I got charged for.

I can confirm. I just called local MB dealer to make appoitment for differential oil change and been told, that it is no longer required (GLC 63S AMG, european version). Even if there is a sticker on the window, it is not longer recorded in internal MB car card - maintenance card.
