Sport Exhaust adjustment

The sport exhaust only automatically comes on in Sport+. Is there a way to get it to come on in other modes automatically?

Yes ,you can buy a module called ASR .
You can keep the valve open 100% all the time . It's plug and play ,easy to install .

No wire cutting?

I have warranty so I don’t want to cut wires. Will this make it obvious if I ever had an exhaust problem to MB?

Does having the exhaust switched on the consile not leave the valves open full time regardless of the mode you are in?

It's a combination of the open valves and the mode programming/shift points, that changes the sound.

The console switch open the valves regardless of the mode you are in but not 100% . Apparently even in sport+ above 4000 rpm t's not open 100% (probably close to it but not all)
The module open 100% when switch in ON .
The simplest way to explain is that you have 3 possible option
Close , Open , Open +
The sound don't change much above 4000 RPM in sport+ mode but def. louder in all mode and lower RPM , deeper tone .
You won't get more bang or fart , at least I didn't !

Don't you have the exhaust button on your center console? I can turn it on in any mode but Sport+ is the only mode that it comes on automatically and where it sounds best. You get a better exhaust note in comfort with the exhaust open but not like you get with the way the engine runs in sport+.

Am I missing something?

This allows you to not have to hit the button every time you switch between modes and will give best sound in all modes not just sport+

Sport Exhaust vs Performance Exhaust

Hi guys,

I know this is an old thread and I’m new to the forum but wanted to see if any of you guys have the answer / experience with this.

Basically I bought a GLC AMG 43 from 2017 which has the Sport Exhaust (not the performance exhaust / stock button).

Obviously the car sounds amazing in Sport + but was wondering if there is a way to make the sound better in Comfort mode…

I have emailed the guys at ASR and they replied that because the Sport Exhaust has no flaps then the module can’t do anything… but I’m confused with some other stuff I’m reading online.

Any help with this would be much appreciated!

thanksss 🙏🏼

If you don't have exhaust button , you don't have the OEM AMG performance exhaust . I think the first GLC 43 with performance exhaust came in MY 2019 .
You ppbly have an aftermarket exhaust and ASR system only works on the OEM perf. exhaust .
Does your exhaust have valves ?
Do you have pictures?

Hi Ianoipat,

thanks a lot for your quick answer.

Correct, I don't have the Performance one as I don't have the button. But being an AMG 43 I believe it comes with the normal OEM Sport Exhaust. What I don't know if the normal exhaust has valves / flaps to be honest. I don't think so... which is the problem for the module.

Having no valves... what I don't know is how the cold start changes so much from Comfort to Sport Plus in terms of noise... it must be a computer controlled element correct?

See attached some pics and video.

Cheers

I recommend the ASR module. Before purchasing I couldn't really discern any difference on YouTube videos, but it does change the sound quite a lot in my 63S even in Comfort.

Thanks lanoipat!

@Pussgalore I guess that's because your 63S has the exhaust with flaps. I have emailed the guys at ASR components and because my exhaust is the stock sport exhaust from 2017 there aren't any flaps to control on the end... it's controlled by ECU and engine changes behaviour on Sport + that's why it sounds a lot louder than in Comfort mode... apparently there is no way to change this without remapping which I don't want to do... shame!
