GLC63 AMG S Coupe
Smile Help me to decide what I should get GLC43 or GLC63 coupe

Hi. I'm new to this forum.
The car I presently own is the 2016 Cadillac ATS-V. I'm very happy with it but I need something more utilitarian and one that I can drive in the winter as I live in Montreal.
I have narrowed my search to GLC43 or GLC63 coupe.
Please help me to choose between the two models commenting on the following:

1- Performance 0-60. 1/4 mile
2- Handling
3- Breaking
4- Sound
5- Comfort
6-Fuel consumption-
7- Looks
8- Fun to drive every day

All your comments and opinions will be greatly appreciated.
Also if you know of any auto magazines comparison or Youtube videos please point me in the right direction.

if money is no issue and you are not a rational person, no need to stop at 43. go all the way.

PS: Rational people buy the SUV so you might as well go all the way to 63S on the Coupe.

If you’re looking for utility, don’t bother with the coupe...

i find that the the only reason to be comparing these 2 would be money...

i myself want the 63, but am comparing it to the 43 ONLY because of the $12-$15k price difference...

the 63 dumps on the 43 is every aspect (except fuel mileage), so it’s simply a matter of money...

Apple and an orange

To me the first question is money. Are you willing to pay the extra for the 63? If the answer is yes, then you just decide on the SUV or minivan (coupe). Just kidding but I don’t care for the coupe look. So that’s your perspective alone. I have the 43 SUV and absolutely love it. The extra $20k was a stretch too far even though I love the ridiculousness of the 63. I’m coming up in a year and still smile everyday while driving my car. If $20k wasn’t a thought for me I’d likely have driven a 63 and then who knows.

Headroom in the rear seats of the coupe versions is minimal. It's a head-knocker for anyone unlucky enough to get stuck back there. The coupe is also heavier but has less cargo capacity.

We have a 43 SUV. It is a lot of fun and quick enough for its size. It is my wife’s car so the 63 was out of the picture. 5,000 miles and no issues. With a baby on the way, she needed the utility of the SUV without the size of the GLE.

I think you should drive both the 43 and 63 and also figure out the purpose the car will serve. Personally speaking if it were my personal ride, I would be looking at a C63 and bypass an SUV simply because I wouldn’t need the utility of it.

I was in a very similar situation (prior to the GLC63 being available) and settled for a GLC43 on all-season tires and keeping my CTS-V in the garage as my fair weather driver. In sport/sport+, the GLC43 is very quick (most tests list 0-60 in the mid 4's). But comfort mode gets very respectable fuel economy if you don't mind losing the "off-the-line" slingshot. Although both GLC models stick to the road with the tenacity of a sports car (and match sports cars by the numbers), don't expect the handling to be as confidence-inspiring as your ATS-V. Hope I don't offend anyone, but with a higher center of gravity, the GLC can almost, but not quite, defy physics. Brakes perform great on these GLCs -- you won't be disappointed. I find the GLC43 very enjoyable to drive.

Don't know if you thought about the option, but GLC43 could be a way to keep both cars with the money you save. You get your tire shredding summer sports sedan and high-performance crossover.
Otherwise, if it's down to only one vehicle, I'd suggest the GLC63 (but tires may have to be a compromise or winter-swap where you live).

GLC63 AMG S Coupe
Thank you guys for your comments and suggestions.
They are much appreciated.
I have to admit that I like the looks of the coupe much better than the SUV. (beauty is in the eye of the beholder).
Money is an issue for me, therefore, I'm considering selling my ATS-V to get cash towards the purchase.
As it will be my only vehicle I will probably go with GLC43NV suggestion of buying GLC63S and using it 12 months per year with good winter tires.

What do you guys think me about getting a used one (1-2 years old) with extended MB warranty ?
That could save me $20 to $30 K.
Is that viable option? So far I have not seen many used ones for sale.

I think you said it. Used GLC63's are hard to find. Easier to find a used GLC43...

My favorite color after the dark blue.

One of the better color choices given the limited palette

I have Selenite Gray and love it. Gives enough contrast to the black bits.

GLC AMG63 - 2018
I have the 63 and love it. Best part about it is passing someone in a 43, actually passing an X3 M40i is or any Macan is a little better. Like someone said above gas is unbelievably bad, I live in Brooklyn and when driving stop and go traffic I get under 8-10 MPH, however I drive like a person with an AMG. Love this ****ing car, wife hates it for all the same reasons. No question get the 63 if you can afford it. FWIW I have the standard SUV I think the coupe is goofy looking but that's me.

We've had our 43 for almost 2 years. Love it, right now looking at trading to a 2019 63S (non coupe) if the price is right.
If the discount isn't big enough, will likely wait for the 2020 refresh for the new tech.
The 63's weren't out when we got ours, but if you CAN afford the 63, if you're anything like me you'll regret not getting it every time you see one.
Fuel economy is only rated at being 18mpg combined city/hwy for the 63, 20mpg for the 43. Not a huge difference.
