4matic Inoperative
Good evening - I was driving on the highway and this message popped up on my dash "4matic Inoperative" Im assuming the 4 wheel drive isnt working properly, as i floor it from a red light and the rear tires are spinning. I reset the battery in the car hoping it would fix the issue but nothing.
I have 2k miles on the car. DME stage 2 tune and Downpipes.
I got the car Dyno'd today and did two runs. As i left the shop, the alert popped up. Went back and they have no clue whats going on. The only reason i got the truck is for AWD. Please, any help would be greatly appreciated.

You better hound them to find out what's going on, unless you have a cool dealer. Otherwise, you may run into warranty issues because of your mods. I agree with above that the tune may have caused an issue or "tripped" some stock parameter and disabled AWD. Are there any codes showing when scanning vehicle? Good luck.

AWD dyno???...OP doesnt say exactly what process was done. If traditional dyno, then yeah, he/she needs to b all over that shop for help, IMHO.
Also, would think the error would produce a code that could help with diagnosis, just need to try and pull code. Best $100 or so I ever spent getting code reader, even if I cant always fix the issue.

I was on a AWD Dynojet - im going to get a code reader tomorrow and see what it says. The car turns on and 4matic is on until i drive 20 feet, then it gets disabled and i can continue to drive if i chose to.

Car worked fine.
Went to tuner and car doesn’t work fine.
Seems simple man. Get it returned to stock and get your money back. Blast the company who did this and ‘has no idea what’s wrong’. If they can’t troubleshoot their own products for the user they are ****.

I think you are mistaken... The company that does the dyno is the one who disabled it.. DME is very trusted in my book with all my cars.

Just to Clarify - This is not a Tuning issue. DME is one of the most reputable Tuning shops for German cars.
I also just want to quickly update this thread on the "4matic Inoperative" warning.
I took the car to the dealer and they were just as surprised. I told them the car was tuned with exhaust work prior to me bringing it in and they were OK with it. They removed the warning and told me to test drive it around but the warning came back up as soon as i left the lot. When i brought it back, they decided to Re Calibrate my 4matic system and my clutch as well. The problem disappeared and i drove home with no issues what so ever. The tech came to the conclusion that the Front "Spinner" of the Dynojet wasn't spinning as fast as the rear which threw off the calibration of the car. They said if i have any other issues bring it back to them.
They didn't charge me for the diagnostic or the fix, but i was persistent on leaving them alittle something
Seems like everythings back to normal now.

Just wanted to update this thread - Put on about 1k miles since the problem first happened, and its back today. Taking it to service tomorrow to find out wtf is causing this. Will update the thread when i get an update.

I also get this message after a dyno run. No more operation of the front drive wheels and given the torque and power impossible to use it. Can you confirm that the awd 4matic+ module must be reset? does it not come back afterwards?
