Just picked up a 2020 GLC 63s coupe yesterday. Initial impressions.

1. The pops and crackles are still present. Don’t notice much of a difference compared to the 2019 model that I test drove. The 2019 had a louder “clunking” sound when lifting off the gas.
2. The power and sound is intoxicating. Even at 4k rpm and below.
3. Suspension in sport plus is perfect. Coming from an 07 Cayman S and VW GTI mk7, I don’t find it overly stiff at all. Haven’t really tried race mode much yet.
4. The new driver interface is awesome. The nav displays street numbers and names as an overlay, as you approach intersections where you are directed to make a turn. Very helpful when trying to find a specific house number. Lots of personalization and customization options. I really like the redundancies in terms of how you can interact with the car. MBUX is a cool, but a little gimmicky. Overall, a huge advancement vs pre-2020 versions.
5. The multi-spoke 21” wheels look much better in person. There’s a 3 dimensional depth to the wheels that’s not apparent in photos. Partially due to the different finishes on different parts of the spokes. Grayish in color.
6. Handling is impressive. Steering is a little light, even in sport plus and race modes. Accurate but not much steering feel/communication from the steering wheel.
7. If you start the car while holding either paddle shifter, the exhaust flaps are open and you get nice loud start up.
8. I bought the car sight unseen so I didn’t know what to expect of the graphite gray color. I like it. Especially when it’s cloudy or other low light conditions. Not thrilled with the chrome “eyebrows” above the rear lights.
9. The buying experience at EuroMotors Bethesda was the best I’ve ever had. No pressure at any point, great deal on the new car and on my trade in. In and out of the dealership in less than an hour. A huge shout out to Dan Anselmo for his efficiency and professionalism.

Having driven the car for only a day (and half a tank of gas), I’m only scratching the surface. But I’m very happy with the car so far.

Great looking GLC! Congrats! Love the wheel and paint combo, especially with the aluminum trim (vs. night pkg trim).

Thanks. Before I received the car, I was definitely planning on wrapping the aluminum trim bits. But i’m not so sure now. As you said,it seems to go well with the color combo.

Nice color but I would wrap all the shiny parts in black ASAP.

Congrats on the new whip. I just test drove a 20 last weekend and was really blown away with the new interior tech.

2020 AMG GLC 63s (ordered)
Congratulations, what a nice looking car. I have an order with the same dealer in Bethesda due to arrive on a few months. Your picked up the car was fast, did you opt to buy any of the offerings by the finance department like tire protection, dent protection or others?

Thanks. I did not opt for any of the offerings from the finance department, and the finance manager didn’t really push them. One thing to consider may be the wheel and tire protection package if you have the 21” wheels. I hit a curb at night, blew out a front tire and ended up with a bulge in the sidewall of the rear tire. Both tires needed to be replaced. Unfortunately, I did not buy the wheel and tire protection package l. Ended up paying ~$700 out of pocket. Luckily no wheel damage. If you do decide to get it, make sure you negotiate and read the fine print of the details, and what it does and does not cover. For instance, they only replace a damaged rim if a tire can not be mounted on it. Otherwise, they repair it, and I think there is a limit to how many rim repairs do they. Tire replacement is prorated based on the amount of tread left. On this last point, I learned that if you buy the tires from the dealer, it comes with 2 year road hazard protection meaning that they will replace it for free (you just pay mounting and balancing). And, the price of the tire was comparable to Tire Rack. I was talking to the service advisor about it and he said that the dealerships realized they were leaving a lot of money on the table by not selling tires at a competitor price, so a number of formed a consortium to get volume pricing on tires. Audi does the same.

Good luck with your order. By the way, one of the first things I did was tint the front windows and black out the chrome trim above the rear tail lights. Looks much better as they were standing out like eye brows on a darker color car.
