2019 glc63s vs 2020 glc63s
- much improved contours of the AMG steering wheel
- additional steering wheel infotainment functions
- new standard options for 2020 Include LED lights and performance exhaust, which reduces the cost difference
- wireless charging future proofs the vehicle for upcoming phones that do not have any wired charging ports
- LED instrument cluster has the super sport mode, and can display data such as tire temp and oil temp at the same time
- “emotion start”
- the ability to have Smartphone integration and active driving assist (unbelievable that it wasn’t possible on 2019 model)
- 2020 has way better ambient lighting
- MBUX isn’t too useful in our experience, but the touchpad for MBUX is better than the Comand scroll wheel and touchpad that requires a claw-like hand position to operate
- if you custom build a 2020 order, you’ll likely save a few percent on options you don’t want and you can spec it exactly to your preferences

also all very valid points. The lease works out to be $200 a month difference.

Definitely go for 2020 if you are purchasing, Resale value will be higher if you decide to sell it in a few years. If you decide to keep it longer, the new tech will make the ownership experience more enjoyable. If you’re leasing and can get a significantly better deal on a 2019, then go for that.
From what I’ve seen, the 2019s that are still left on dealer lots are loaded up with options. Ok if you want them, but you may end up paying for a bunch of stuff you wouldn’t otherwise get, which further negates any price advantage of getting a 2019 vs a 2020.
If you don’t like either of these market intro spec, then place a custom order.
Wouldn’t touch a 2019 with a 10 foot poll even though I own one. It will be sell proof because of all the old tech!

OP: Definitely go 2020 model, no question...and I’m usually a sucker for big discounts on a vehicle.
I’ll report back after driving my 2020 glc43 after delivery tomorrow.
I don’t remember my test drive of the 2019 version well enough to say whether or not there is a difference. But the 2020 sounds good enough to me, and along with the updated tech swayed my decision.

Funny enough my own father ordered a 2020 GLC63. He got a fairly high optioned SUV @ 96k. I believe the matte gray/red race seats.
I told him he can have all my parts for 10k and have a 800hp monster. He seems very interested lol.
With that said, he drove my 2018 GLC and fell in love with it so he went ahead and got the updated version. He’s not super techy but you can’t not fall in love with that dash. I just wish they made it one piece glass like all the new models coming out. I sense another possible redesign not so far down the road.
On the exhaust note.. I wouldn’t doubt if it was dumbed down a bit. Truly the car is built on euro specs and as they crack down more and more it doesn’t really matter what we want when buying a car from Germany.
I am still waiting for something new to come out that really jumps at me. I driven quite a bit in the GLC, 15k miles this year which is insane to me considering I normally drive about 8k/year. Just love this damn thing.
