It's not the tires so much as the temperature - the cars come with summer high performance tires and when the temps drop they loose traction. Get a set of all-season high performance tires like the michelin pilot sport A/S 3 for cold weather.

Read about Ackerman steering geometry, this is a strong element of what’s happening.
Accentuated by tire size (diameter and width), wheel offset, tire compound and tread design, and driveline design specifically all three differentials.

Last week I replaced my worn out P Zeros with PS4S which are my favorite tires. I would say they grab more than the Zeros did but they are just a dang good tire.
I am pretty sure that all my all wheel drive SUVs(6) have had this problem with Summer tires when the temp got down in the 60's or below. It never really bothers me, I just don't turn the steering wheel all the way when I turn. I will never compromise a car this awesome with all season tires.

I am driving on summer tires in 40 degree weather with zero occurence.
The continental Contisport was definitely the reason on mine. Extremecontact sport has never made any noise.
