Anyone getting a discount on a GLC63?

I am thinking of buying a GLC63 and wondering if people are seeing dealers give discounts? The dealer I am working with is being very inflexible... you would think cars are flying out of showrooms right now.

Are you talking about the Euro or US market? Provide some links if US.

I, too, am in the market for a GLC63. Looks like you're one step ahead of me, as I have been waiting for some work-related issues to get sorted out before I get my dealer involved. If Ayronic's claim of $10k off on 2020s is true then hopefully we'll both be driving happy soon.

US Market, I was just shopping last month, I checked the previous dealerships that were offering massive discounts on the 2019 and... they are gone only 2020s left. I used the Truecar car app, it shows the average prices the cars are being sold for, and also shows which dealership is giving the discount, that and timing it with the end of the month, plus a few walk outs (you will be amazed how much more you can get when you try to walk out first). I usually have no shame I only negotiate with these people 1 every few years :-)

I bought mine just before the end of the 2019 and got a 13% discount, so just a smidge under $11k for a 2020 allocated car ($83k after options). I basically got a few dealerships in a bidding war for my business and that's where I landed. Can't imagine it would be any different now, even if they tell you it HAS to be done before whatever time frame they make up. They also offered an 8% discount for a special order, I just didn't feel like waiting. Good luck in your search and don't settle or let them pressure you.

What???? Again, is this the US or Euro market? How do you get discounts like this? I got mine as soon as they hit the dealers back in 2019 and only got 4%

Bought mine at the height of the rona in March and got 11% on my first offer through an email to the dealer. Word on the street is that dealers are expecting sales to pick back up soon and no longer offering steep discounts. They're also less likely to get the manufacturer kickbacks for sales volume being that sales are way down. That means they'll need to make every dollar count on new vehicle sales until sales volume increases.

I’m out in Northern Virginia. It’s not easy I can assure you, I got laughed out of one dealership when I asked for $10k off and got lucky one of the dealerships is on this site and they contacted me. So I imagine it’s all about timing.

just picked up a 2019 and in my search I found several in California. They are available and I’m sure with around 20k off. With the sound changing for 2020, I see very little point for me to look at those. The ‘19 retains the raw unaltered AMG music, while ‘20 conforms today the EU sound limits.

I ordered mine before Corona (late Dec) and we agreed on 8.5% off total MSRP. When it arrived, I stuck to the original agreement in addition to $1k fleet discount and another $500 from MB towards first payment. Overall it was a little over 10%.

I had no trades and didn't buy any extra warranties. Sometimes dealers give you 15-20-30% off MSRP, but they make their money on the backend on the other stuff, including interest rates.

I'm not going to spend hours trying to get another couple hundred dollars, additionally, dealers need to make money to stay in business.

@Moonpie64 I want to be sure I understand. It would not be a surprise, but are you saying they offer 4% less discount for a special order over an in stock car? I will have to special order since my dealership is a small one. I will likely get a GLE63s though - I need the room.

That is correct. I almost took the offer for special order, but the in stock car pretty much checked all the boxes and we didn’t have to wait. The GLE is definitely bigger, but not faster...
