2019 vs 2020

Which would you buy a 2019 or a 2020
Both are brand new with the same options
The 19 lists for 74k and can be bought for 62k
only problem it’s 2 hours away and in a high coronavirus area in South Florida.
I haven’t got a price on the 20 yet but it’s local and the list is 75k
I am trying to get my local dealer to get the 19
for me.
I am also going to test drive a 20 Audi
SQ5
I just test drive a 20 RS3 Audi and was impressed.
My current ride is a 17 SLC 43 AMG
Wife wants a SUV again
Idid have a GLC 43 that was impressive however then she wanted a truck now she wants a SUV.
What to Do ?????

The biggest difference is MBUX, if you are not that keen into newer tech 2019 is thew way to just because you can get loads of discount on them. I opted for the 2020 because when I had a rental i really enjoyed the MBUX, and to me i thought it was well worth the extra money. Plus the face-lifted headlights look menacing.

for 12k off, MBUX can suck it if I was shopping.

But MBUX is quite awesome if you value the niceties

So the most obvious thing with these kinds of questions is that the 2019 is effectively now a 1 year old car and has suffered the corresponding deprecation. The discount you are getting better is higher than that depreciation. It's a pretty nice discount, but with today's depressed car values I suspect it is less than the car actually depreciated. If you plan on keeping the car a number of years, then this is less of a factor, The other thing is the question of whether you can live with the old tech in the 2019. It's basically significantly outdated now, so you are buying a car with largely outdated tech. Some of it may only matter if these two cars actually have the multimedia package or whatever the corresponding package is called with MBUX. Also keep in mind that all new and facelifted MBs now have the Smartphone interface, so you can use Apple CarPlay or Android Auto even if you don't opt for Navigation etc. I believe the 2019 GLC like the 2018 C could be ordered with the optional Smartphone Integration package, but only if not selecting the Multimedia package. Quite honestly, I personally would not buy a new car now that doesn't have Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Not that I'm a super fan of it, but it's just the times we live in and proper smartphone integration with the car is just state of the art now.

Go for the 2020, if you have any desire/need/want for the newer technology with CarPlay and AAuto. The MBUX is light years ahead of the crappy Multimedia Package in the pre-2020 vehicles. I bet you could get 10% or more off the 2020, as well, so price difference won't be that drastic, especially over the long term. Assuming you keep the vehicle for awhile.

As an aside, I also liked the SQ5, but a bit smaller and less "raw" than the GLC, if that helps. Good luck!

Got a better deal on a SQ5 2020
Mercedes Dealership tryed to dick me only wanted to give me 2k off of list and less than book on my trade.
Difference between the SQ5 and the GLC43 was 10k with the same equipment plus the SQ5 has more cargo room.
Was able to work the Audi dealer while the MB dealer just wanted to be a Azzhole.
So bye bye MB and back to Audi

If the "hidden" exhaust on SQ5 bugs you, you can always (later) consider adding a ABT exhaust with Quad tail pipes

Otherwise the SQ5 is good value. From what I have heard, a little less sporty maybe but very comfortable.

Audi will work wonders on pricing. It can be a beating but you can get a ton off of MSRP.

I was shocked how low they went on my 2019 last year when I got it, 2020's were not out yet. My initial offer was not even reasonable and I didn't really need the car but we just kept negotiating and my initial offer was finally matched. One we reached a deal, I told them I actually wanted the car next to the one we had negotiated, the only difference was the other one had the night package. I told them since they worked out such a deal that I was just add 100% of the cost of that package to the price we had agreed on, they said no problem and we walked out happy with our deal. This was a PP not a S.

We have always owned a Q5 no matter what else we have. They are just good cars. I wish I had of never sold my TDI, I loved that car.

Its funny both dearships are owned by the same person.
Audi just fired their manager who was a total azzhole.
The Mercedes manager who used to be great to deal with turned into a total azzhole.
Both cars were optioned the same and their was a $10,000 dollar difference.
The Mercedes manger wanted to steal my trade.
Audi owes me tint which they are going to do at the Mercedes dealship.
The Mercedes was faster but the Audi was smoother and more comfortable but 10k is a major jump.

The Q5 will go through way less tires and brakes too.

Audi has a lot more room to move on the (S)Q5. They build them with cheap labor at their Mexico plant, but haven't adjusted the MSRP downward. They are still selling them at "German" pricing. They probably still made a sweet profit on your deal. It costs them way less to build and ship them than it does MB who builds the GLC in Germany and has to ship it over the ocean. Tarrifs are also much lower from Mexico for trucks/SUVs.

Just the new updated MBUX entertainment system is worth the reason to go with 2020 model. If I had the choice and money was not in the equation I would go with 2020. The headlights looks nicer and front end looks a bit more aggressive. And the AMG exhaust tips are larger and more aggressive looking.

I liked the looks and sounds of the 43 however my bank account likes the extra 10k.
Took it in to have my front windows tinted to match the back they also clear wrapped the top of the rear bumper as a courtesy.
Got home and had to rinse the Sahara dust off

I have put two coats of F11 on so far !!!!
I had to take the car to their Mercedes dealer to do the tint.
Same dealer that’s didn’t want to make a deal.
Toooo Funny !!!!!

this looks like a minivan (dodge journey ?). Why didn’t you just get the Porsche Macan

I don’t consider a Macan a sports car
Looking for a 16 CaymanS or GTS
Dealer wants me to order a 2021 however I don’t have a spare 100k laying around.
i agreed the Audi is boxy but what a nice comfortable ride with good power.
The GLC43 has more power but rides like a truck probably due to the Badyear Tires.
The Audi is the wife’s ride however I get to clean and keep full of gas!!!!

It doesn't look like a Minivan. hey, a GLC AMG SUV looks like a GLC 300 SUV and there are a million on the road. Most of the general public doesn't notice how much more aggressive the AMG version looks from behind. Coming from a GLE AMG 63s Coupe, I thought I wanted to get the GLC 6S SUV bust once I looked and drove it, I had to have the Coupe. It is just so unusual and an attention grabber. It is not unusual for me to get several people a day either roll down their window and tell me they love my car or to get a thumbs up. It is just crazy.

I have had 5 Q5's, they are just good cars. I liked the old body style better but since having the new one, it has grown on me.
