JB4 (wireless or data cable)

About to pull the trigger on a JB4 instead of going ecu flash for multiple reasons. Regardless looks like there is two options for uploading tunes. Assuming most everyone goes with the Wireless so they can use a phone app, yes? Thought I read something about water damage since these units go under the hood. Any advice is more than welcome.

I’m going to get the Bluetooth module. I’ve used the wired connection in the past just a pain to pull out a laptop every time I want to make a change. Let me know how you like the JB4 when you get it, looking in that same direction since there is nothing really out for the 2020 that doesn’t require a bench flash.

I'm honestly back and forth. Had a schedule in with Eurocharnged but they said they don't know if I'd have to leave the car over for 24h if there isn't a tune or something long those lines. I'm pretty far away from them and would need to sleep over which is difficult for me. My other two options are pull ECU out myself and send to them or I just get the JB4 and be done with it. Seems gains are very similarly yet you have more flexibility with JB4 especially if you have E85

I’m planning on running E30 with the JB4 and their BMS dual intakes, atleast until someone figures out a OBD2 flash for the 2020’s.

If you're looking to justify the JB4 purchase because waiting for the Eurocharged tune is simply inconvenient (I get it) but EOD an ECU flash is simply safer for your vehicle. I would just be patient and wait for them to come out with a tune that doesn't require a layover and/or pulling and sending in an ECU. Just my opinion. Your car, your money, your decision. Peace !

I have never had an issue with the wireless module on several different cars. I always get the upgraded aluminum box though.

Right on, though when you add in this extra cost is about 1k which is an ecu flash cost. Again not saying its bad just saying its not 799 like BMS lists.

Saw someone on dragy with the Renntech ECU+ with better times than JB4 might go that route since it’s flashable via OBD2.
