GLC Coupe Rear Black Emblem

morning,

anyone with a glc coupe bought a black emblem from ebay that you can recommend? there are a ton of items listing on there and I received one which listed to be fitted for my car BUT it came to to be smaller (i think it fitted glc rather than the coupe as it's a larger star).

Thanks.

sorry I do not, my son did the work, I can ask if he has any pointers, but I believe he just went at it, usually he finds stuff on YouTube, if I get more info I will post, I will ask where he got all the black emblems as well

this was his Coles notes version, see below

split the pull handle from behind as you sit in the trunk looking out, look up at handle you will see a split, this is where you need to start

pull front panel with trunk controls off, disconnect wires, now you will see camera, and slowly pull it out

there is a drain tube be careful not to damage, or you will have water entering the interior

take your time, be patient, and if your faint of heart and local to me, he can do it for you, however there is a cost, took him about 3 hours start to finish, not bad considering it was the first one of this kind he has done.

.

Interesting you were able to remove it the way you did, when my son tried it wouldn’t budge, after taking it apart as he did he found it was all glued together, and it took some effort to remove the star, the original star was slightly damaged, but we purchased a new black one any ways, and just reused the original white circle to match the body colour, instead of the black disc the black star came with.

so you were able to remove the disc and star as one unit, then masked off and painted the star, slightly different than what I did, we removed everything and put in a new black star

different process, similar results....

Wrap it on the car, no need for all the hassle.

possible to do it BUT I spay painted the star so wrapping on the car would not work. it wouldn't fully cover the whole star.

Hi, did you have to use double sided tape to secure it after? Thanks
