These are the most basic questions that really should be researched so that you can come to your own conclusion. There are a number of pros and cons, but this same question has been asked thousands of times across every make and model vehicle and the most common logical response is: "Do your research."

I voted 'No' because you have a lot to learn before just throwing a JB4 on your brand new car.

Tunes are risky in terms of warranty voidance; this simply can't be argued. That said, my philosophy is that tunes should be earned. In other words, have you driven the car to full capacity (with nannies off) and really truly crave more power? Granted I have a 63, but I really doubt any of us take it to that level. In S+ it's an animal. I haven't tracked my GLC but did my C63. And it would take a very competent driver to earn a tune on that car.

Only if you can afford to cover the repairs if anything goes wrong because your warranty will certainly be voided. One of my contacts at Mercedes said corporate hired a former Renntech engineer to help detect tunes for vehicles that come back for warranty.

Something to keep in mind with tunes or any emission modification done on these vehicles, from the factory mercedes saves and logs all control unit data including a cvn code. That cvn code is specific to that program in your ecu, when you program it with a tune or make any changes, that cvn code changes. If you ever have an issue with your Benz that might require a technical assistance case made, they (mercedes, not the dealer) will look at that cvn code to see if it's changed from the original code logged from the factory. If it's changed due to a tune, even if you flashed it back to stock, your Vin will be flagged and all future warranty repairs will have to be authorized by a mercedes representative after they decide if the tune (which operates the car above what its been designed to handle) contributed to the failure. Basically you can forget about most of your warranty on any engine, Trans, diff, or driveline failures. People thinking you can just put it back to stock and mercedes won't know is completely incorrect. Anytime you perform a program change in an ecu, the cvn code changes. Theres no way around that. Please consider this when deciding to tune your car. This applies to ALL tunes....AMR, weistec, renntech, AMS, OE TUNING.......everyone

All good points, be prepared to pay to play. If you’re running a “stage 1” tune from a respectable tuner you probably won’t have any issues. I tuned 2 cars prior to this one, WRX and GTI, for about a 17 year run combined with no issues. But yes if you’re still under warranty, think twice before getting a tune. My car just dropped out of warranty so yay.

This is a good way to look at it. It's clear that a tune poses a risk to any warranty claim. So which tunes (and stages) are least likely to causes issues? If it's only for daily driving and stoplight battles, then seems like a stage 1 from a reputable company like Renntech or Weistec is the safest bet.

There is a recent thread on this site from an owner who tuned a C450 (same engine as GLE43) and is having problems with the driver's bank of cylinders. Search this site.

I wouldn't tune an M276. While the engine is above-average reliable for Mercedes, which is no great accomplishment, it has been designed in an era of built-in fragility. Carmakers are designing and building cars closer to the margin than ever before. In principle, when warranty coverage expires, the vehicle turns to dust. An overstatement, but it illustrates the point. The M276 seems to me built along these lines - pretty good, but not more.

If a tune is a must, bear in mind that factory warranty will likely be avoided that that you are going where few have gone before.

A lot
Is a minor bump up in power from a stage 1 tune worth voiding your warranty?

Puts a smile on my face 🤩 plus my warranty ended.

if it’s your daily driver and reliability and repair costs are your main concern, then don’t do it.
