Modernspare tire kit
Hello, new member here. Just got my 2021 GLC 63 and looking for a spare tire kit as i occasionally do some long distance driving with wife and kids. Been researching on the forum on what others have done but come across this company moderspare.com The company claims their spare tire kit with spacer will work with GLC 63. Just wondering has anyone has any experience with their tire and any feedbacks... appreciate any thoughts.

I have a 2017 with 18" wheels and bought the modernspare kit. It fits neatly under the lid in the back, and appears to be of good quality. There is a thread ion the x253 forum with some other things people have done for a spare as well.(like finding used spares from other models). I believe I saw on that thread the 2020 and later have a different underfloor storage area so for sure you want to do some research. You can also email modernspare right from their website, iIdid when was considering buying and they were very helpful
While the modern spare was pricier than used options, i was happy to b able to click and buy very easily
When i bought it i purchased everything, including the case. In my vehicle, the lid will not sit flat if you put it in the case.

If the rim is 18 inch it won't fit .
Need to be 19 inch minimum to free the big front disc .
I end up to buy a GLE spare for my GLC 43 and use 15mm spacer to free the front disc . It's a matter of the rim shape .
Let us know , I am curious .

2021 GLC 43, ordered the MB spare tire (690 Emergency Spare Wheel) for $200. Comes with the jack and special offset lugs, no air compressor. It also appears the configuration is different in the storage area to accommodate the spare tire hold down.

Just received my modernspare for my glc 63. I ordered the complete kits with spacer. All parts and tire look good quality. The spacer should be thick enough to clear the brake caliber. Also spoke to moderspare and they guarantee fit. The only issue but nothing to do with modernspare is the spare tire doesn’t fit entirely under the trunk due to the car air tank and electronics but workable for me. Now, i am more comfortable taking longer road trip with wife and kids.

Wait, how are you comfortable with the spare not fitting entirely under the trunk? Are you saying your trunk lid doesn't lie flat anymore? Are you maybe only bringing the spare when you're on long road trips? If so, that's a non-starter for me.

For glc63, you can put a spare under the trunk but the lid wouldn’t close flat, put the spare in the trunk but take up more spaces, dont carry a spare (but tire inflator and repair kit). For me, i put the spare and the tire repair kit under the trunk. Not ideal but this is what i have to live with.....

Received my Modern Spare kit for GLC63. Tried it out this morning on the front with the included spacer, No issues. I hope never have to use it, because changing a tire on a GLC63 is not like on a toyota corrolla. Those are some heavy wheels.

Got a big nail in the passenger real tire and used the modernspare until my new tire is delivered. Even the real will require to use the spacer but spare tire and tools work great...
