Is there any room to negotiate on custom ordering a glc63s coupe?
If anyone has custom ordered one instead of buying off the lot, would like to know if you were able to get anything off. I know you have less leverage than something off the lot, but wondering if it's close to 0.
Curious if this will be a "it's a 100k car, our customers don't haggle and we don't give discounts" kind of deal.

If you are willing to shop around, there should be as much if not more room to negotiate on a custom order. It will require you to put a deposit down, but there are a ton of reasons why you should get a good if not better deal than picking something off the lot. I ordered mine and received a discount similar to the post above.

If you are able to shop around and have multiple dealerships that can get you a build allocation you will be in a better space. I personally wasn't able to get much of a discount as it was my first MB (didn't have an established relationship with dealer) and I couldn't get any other dealerships to lock down an allocation. They did offer me multiple other options for cars already on a lots across the west coast but I wanted to build. Car off the lot you should have a significantly higher negotiating power.

In my defense, I only walked into the dealership to pee and grab a free coke and nuts. I didn't know that a black on black GLC 63S was going to me on the showroom floor....

Wait I should've clarified, i'm custom ordering a ZERO OPTION glc63s coupe. In this scenario, is there a significantly less amount of room to wiggle since i imagine it's the options where they can give a bit of a deal when someone is buying an additional 20-30k in options and maintenance/warranty plans?

2020 glc63s coupe. 2021 mach e awd. 2016 camaro 2ss.
There's a 2020 new, in black, with about 20k in options. Comes to 113k msrp. Not including the ridiculous $3200 freight but one problem at a time. I reallllly wanted white. They offered on the spot 10k off since it's a 2020 though.
OTOH i might be able to get a 2021 new, custom order, in white, 0 options, for 5k off msrp. From 97k to 92k. Also not including freight.
Thoughts? There's a 2021 at another dealer in white at 113k, but I assume they won't offer such a steep discount since it's a 2021?

If it were me, I would go the custom order route. Car is cheaper and exactly what you want. It doesn't hurt to go for the white 2021 that is on the lot. Make them a fair offer. My best advice is shop around. You could have two dealers in the same town, one offering no discount, another offering 10%. Good luck!
Maybe you have boatloads of cash. I don't, so when it came to dropping this kind of money on a car I wanted everything to be exactly the way i wanted it. I didn't want to settle for a color or option that i didn't care for. got 8% off on an buildable early allocation, which was fair.
