Is anyone using any Run Flat tires?

Other than a Continental ContiSportContact 5 Contiseal, I am not finding any. (looking for a high reliability tire and not a performance tire on my 2020 GLC43).
My factory Continental ContiSportContact are wearing poorly and am concerned the Contiseals would wear as bad. I have the 21 inch set.

Front 255/40 ZR21
Rear 285/35 ZR21

The general consensus, at least from what I have been reading, is to stay away from run flat tires. If you do not plan on running performance type tires, I suggest that you have a closer look at the Pirelli Scorpion Zero Plus.

Run flats have came along way in technology. They're not bad at all anymore. I ran them on my Z06. The run flats are the stock tire, and not bad at all. They are the only tires I would run on my ZO6, but then I sold it. The ZO6 where engineered to run that tire. They were the Michelin Pilot Super Sport zero pressure. I doubt they have that tire size for a GLC.

I had factory runflats on my BMW and they were horrid, I couldn't get them off quick enough.

I understand. I'm sure my Z06 would've round circles around you with my run Flats.

You wish son. I have 3 cars faster than a ZO6. Heck, my GLC will match you zero to 60 and may get you in the 1/8 as you spin so...maybe 4....

ok... I really wasn't talking about a straight line but I didn't mention that. The tested 0 to 60 in a Z06 is 2.9 stock car which is hard to replicate in real life, and of course my Z06 was not stock, and of course there is always better cars, and I've owned many makes and models including an M3. I sold my ZO6 to get the GLC 63. To be more family friendly, and like you I currently own many cars. I'm not trying to get in a pissing match with you. The ZO6 is an impressive car performance wise. My buddy has 830 hp to the wheels C63S with bigger turbos and all that stuff, and the Z06 is funner to drive. The OEM run-flats MPSSZP's we're a great tire on the Z06. No spare tire in the Z06 like the GLC 63. The Z06 was the first time I ever had run flats. All my other vehicles have the spares, so the only time I've ever have run run flats. If I had spare I wouldn't run them. My M3 didn't have a spare and at the time I didn't run run Flats

There is a benifit to run flats. I’ve had run flats on a couple of my ‘vettes. They are garbage. The vehicles come to life when the run flats are replaced with true high quality performance tires.

No harm, no foul buddy.

My next door neighbor has a highly modded Z06. When it was stock, I could normally get him up to the 1/8 mile.

Now it is on meth and a Pro-Charger and I can easily kill it because it goes into limp mode when it hits second gear... Lol...

Once he figures it out, it will easily b
e 1,000hp. My guess is, it will just spin more off the line.

I would not go near a Z06 on the track as it would eat me but I like the chances on the road.

Great, thread taken over by teenagers arguing who has better 0-60........
Speaking of the subject at hand, as already mentioned above, the technology made a huge progress in Run-Flat category and today's product is head and shoulders above the stuff made just 3- 4 years ago.
I have Winter run flats on my S63, my wife had them on her daily Lusso and the benefit of being able to ignore a puncture on countless potholes in Illinois and just driving home is priceless, even if there is some slight deterioration in ride comfort (negligible anyway, IMO).
Being stuck on the side of the road here, with an epidemic proportion of car jackings lately, is not a prospect for me to consider, especially if it happens to be my wife in that situation.
She has a GT53 with these tires on, currently.

Like I was saying I think run flats are better now, but having said that I don't know if I'm going to get them on my GLC. I don't want a stiff ride to get even stiffer. Those side walls are pretty stiff on the run flats. Maybe for me 19's, and run flats? Depending on what brand I could fit when switching to 19's. Unfortunately my wife gets motion sickness and she doesn't like a stiff vehicle so I'm trying to get 19's to lessen that and putting run Flats on that would probably defeat the purpose of going to a smaller wheel with more sidewalls.

UK owners had some success with Vredestein tires MOE all season around 20”. In Australia we have had good results with Goodyear Eagle M+S All Season MOE run flats, good handling, yes some road noise, but increase PSI to help and better tyre life too. Again 20” family, they may have 21” in your rim sizing ?
Good luck.
