Water on drivers floor

My wife’s 2019 GLC63 Coupe has less than 3k on it.
Woke up this morning after a pretty hard rain last night to find about 1/2” of water on the drivers side floor. The doors, windows and sunroof were all fully closed.
After shop vacuuming the water out I started it and immediately got a suspension malfunction warning. The suspension keeps going back and forth from S+ to S then the warning again.
Anyone experienced this?

So some follow up:
it was the sunroof drains clogged.
dealer says not under warranty even though the car has fewer miles than required 10k maintenance. I had to get my insurance company involved.

Another update: both wiring harnesses under the drivers floor need to be replaced. Parts need to be made to VIN in Germany and are 15 weeks out at a cost to my insurance company of $14,000.
Takeaway: keep those drains clear!

Exactly. And car has only 3k, this must be covered under warranty for 100%.

Where U were driving that U get them clogged with 3k on ODO ? This is absolute BS!!

Your car is almost NEW, if U really did not forget anything opened, there is some other issue like wrong sealing in you sunroof/window or etc.

It should be covered under warranty.

Dealer said service interval 10,000 miles or 1 year, their position is it should have been serviced since it’s a 2019. So basically they can duck any warranty claim if we don’t bring our cars in once a year, I agree- BS.

Dealer also said clog was from “dirt and debris”

I won’t have the car back for 12 weeks, but when I pick it up you better believe I’ll find out where these drains are and how to clear them.

Update: so 12 weeks turned into over 6 months, got the car back last week. Delays in AMG parts and qualified technicians. Final bill to insurance company was $20k. Sheesh.

Does anyone know where these drains are located? Seems like an expensive problem that could be prevented easily

Might be from the sunroof, try to see if it indeed is https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...ml#post8784947
if so, you could consider trying this: https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...ml#post8784803

I am currently running a thread about this and a possible class action suit. Would you please share your experience with me? The thread is here: https://mbworld.org/forums/general-m...ain-tubes.html

I have the exact same issue. This is my second Mercedes glc coupe. The first none had zero issue. This 2022 one had this last year. I had heard water sloshing around somewhere or bubble going up water. I thought it was a bottle somewhere in the car. I came back from holidays and found the passenger footwell covered in grey mould. I assumed I left the window open, couldn’t figure it out. Then a week later, it lashed rain and I saw water pouring into the passenger footwell and out of the speakers on either side of the car mirror. I brought it to Mercedes and they claimed that the gulleys that allow rain to run though the pillars to the ground) by the sunroof got blocked and they unblocked them. They told me to make sure I got the garage to blow out those gulleys on every service. this summer I had the same issue, two inches of water in the passenger footwell. I have it booked in and could be faced with a sizeable bill. They say they haven’t seen this before. it looks like a fault with the car and I have no idea what to do

looks like k finally identified the problem. It’s a fault $4 grommets inside the pillar where
tje water runs down. It gets clogged and water can’t get out. I’m just removing the grommet, serves no purpose

Do you have a picture and/or part number of this?

Not sure if you have a fix or not yet but wanted to add this to help others.

I had this happen to mine as well but I found behind the brake pedal up high on the firewall there was a grommet missing that plugs on the firewall. If you go in the engine bay and remove the windshield washer plastic fairing you will see the hole looking down. It helps to have a flashlight inside the car shining up towards the firewall. All the water from rain runs that way. I'm not sure if this was a quality escape issue or not from MB but terrible if it was. You can go to a local autoparts store and purchase a plug or when I have time I'll dig in the parts catalog and find the part number for it if you find it missing.

I'll dig around for a pic if I still have it.

I made this account to share my experience. I have both a x253 GLC and a W167 GLE, and the GLC is starting to leak from the top of the drivers side A-pillar from a clogged sunroof drain line. The only sunroof drain line. I noticed the leak when I was driving and water was dripping on my thigh. Looking closer, Water soaks the a pillar, runs off the side of the dash, and soaks into the carpet. It was impossible to get an angle to the sunroof drain hole from the top, since the GLC has what I guess I'd call a secondary basin to collect water, and access is blocked from the first. Grooves allow water to pour into the second basin from the first, but does not allow access or visual to blow out the drain entrance. Such a simple idea overcomplicated to oblivion. Drain line doesn't even run through the a pillar trim so no access there. Lost on how to DIY a soloution besides peeling back the wheelwell cover and blowing through the end of the drain, and praying the line itself didnt disconnect by the sunroof. Fun times.

Thanks for the pictures and part number. Glad to hear no actual electrical damage.
