Front and Rear dash cam recommendation
Hey guys,
I was wondering if you had any recommendations for a front and rear dash cam for my 63s coupe. Please let me know your thoughts.

I'm using the Blackvue DR900S-2CH. it works ok but it's overpriced compared to the Viofo A129 Pro Duo 4k in my other car. The only reason I got the Blackvue for the merc was because it looked more high end

BlackVue is excellent, great software to view later on PC and ability to highlight number plates.
We have Thinkware U1000, F&R, aux battery booster and park radar.
Very happy with quality, fitted to 4 x cars. Mazda written off due to 4x4 raming rear on freeway - video footage was brilliant.
Thinkware software is ok, but basic, camera quality excellent.
We have owned and used over 1/2 dozen brands and both B’s are great, Viofo not that common here in Oz.

TBH it’s hard to answer that, if only because it’s so easy to get lost within the sea of options…I know I have been thus far!?😜
Myself, I’m looking at a known brand for warranty, 4K, night vision/ mode, has a screen to view and make options that can connect with the rear - if that’s an option; and has simple function on the UI for essential key options on the main menu.
Still looking though…😅👍

I have used the VanTrue S1 for about 6 months, no issues so far.
I am looking to get a Battery backup installed & wired in the glovebox so it will record when parked, but I have been impressed with the unit so far.
-Front Camera tucks away behind the mirror nicely, mounted to plastic behind mirror.
-Rear camera is small, I mounted it on the plastic @ top of glass & hardly notice it in rearview.
-Wires are a PITA to hide, maybe find a good stereo installer to tuck the wires & wire to a backup USB battery pack & to the fuse box for 12VDC
-Easy to access files on PC, I am running a Samsung EVO 256HD Micro SSD & it stores about a month + of driving
-Great picture when viewed on PC, Front & rear cameras perform well with good night vision
-Good price point for around $200.
-small screen on front unit is hidden by rearview mirror, so not distracting when driving. But good enough to view it in the car if you need to.
Was in a "Minor" incident where another driver swiped my side plastic fender causing no real damage, but after telling him I had a front/rear camera he quickly changed his tone & admitted fault.
since no damage we went our separate ways, but initially he was starting to accuse me of fault.
Hope this helps,

garmin mini
got one for the front and back
installed them myself.
hard to install on the rear while trying to maintain hidden wires but front was super easy.
didnt hardwire though.
the garmin mini is super discreet and quality is fine.
they just released a garmin mini 2 wth better quality now.
the garmin app is super easy to use.
only downside is the export to phone time.
can get around that by using your laptop to upload any footage youd like to save.

+1 for Blackvue. Def not cheap, but the quality of the picture is awesome.

I have a Viofo A129 Pro Duo 4k installed. I took it to my 12v shop and they did a great job installing the hardwired kit to enable parked mode and so on for about 100 bucks. Its on the passenger side right next to the rearview mirror so it doesn't intrude. I've used other Viofo cams before in other cars and they are very reliable.
