ECU recall 2018 GLC43

I have an appointment with the dealer for service tomorrow. They mentioned that there’s an ECU recall. I have a burble tune on the car and wonder about both what this recall is going to do to car performance AND will it screw up the burble tune?

I remember that there were complaints here about S+ bucking if you let off the gas at very low speed and then pushed it. I had the same issue and adjusted driving style to avoid. In that thread they said the “update” neutered the throttle response and burble.

I assume I’ll lose my burble tune but curious if smarter folks here think otherwise.

anyone have this done or know what the recall is supposed to fix?

should I delay or deny the service??

thanks

If you have a 2018 it's ppby out of warranty !
If you are happy with the way your car perform, don't do anything .

If you go in for service, make sure you tell them YOU DO NOT WANT them to touch your ECU, you have a tune. Your warranty is gone, so they can't hassle you. If you don't tell them explicitly, many dealers will just do what the computer tells them to based on your VIN and that could be a mapping/tune update that would zap your current tune.

If your car is under the extended warranty and they have issued a recall, you’re gonna have to do it otherwise they can - and in the states probably would do; void your warranty due to the refusal of installation for a recalled part. I’m no expert so others more enthusiastically reclined may want to correct me there and proceed to trash talk…!?

Got it !
Since you pay for your burble tune already ,can you get it reinstalled from the vendor for a small fee ?

update: my SA said it just updates the code for service intervals. Odd and makes me wonder if someone can find the bulletin for us to read and confirm. He said no problem and I haven’t reached out to MBHouse to see what they would charge to reinstall.

is there a place to see the bulletin?

Is there a similar recall for the regular C 43 as well? What model years? What is the recall code? What exactly is it about? I don't see anything in particular in regards to ECU on Transport Canada's site, unless I am missing something...

I have a 2018 GLC43 and it’s the only recall against my car according to my SA. I asked if he’d send me the bulletin and he said let me look and said all it did was fix an issue with the service intervals. Apparently some weren’t calculating correctly.

That’s all I know.

I see. I assumed you reside in Ontario since you mentioned MBHouse but then from your public profile you stated on mbworld it mentions you are from the USA, so depending on where you are:
Try plugging your VIN in here: https://www.mercedes-benz.ca/en/recalls
and/or https://www.carfax.ca/recall-check
MBUSA:
https://www.mbusa.com/en/recall
If it is official then it should detail what it might be with a Transport Canada recall number or NHTSA campaign number if you are from the USA.

Just got mine back today had the B0 service done and they also did the software update (not a recall) . My SA also confirmed it was a fix for the service intervals nothing more.

Thank you for your update. When was the software dated? As in first available for the vehicle?

OP, were you able to confirm the recall via the VIN check on MBC or MBUSA's website?

not sure but it was a correction as the existing software had potential to show a negative number and cause issues for service intervals/dates .

Had my 2018 GLC 43 updated yesterday at local Mercedes Dealer during Service A.

Campaign # 21P5498710 update control unit software (I believe the update had to do with the incorrect mileage being collected for Service A and B)
