AMG Australia Track Warranty
Hi all!
I had a recent track day here in Sydney, Australia. It was a great experience, enjoyed taking my 2020 GLC63S Coupe to the track and see how well it performs.
Everything went well until 4th session where check engine light came on and stayed on for few seconds and power was also limited at that time, then it switched off. Everything went well in 5th and 6th session, no check engine light on.
While returning home check engine light came on and is still on after 3 days. I haven't used car after the track day and was hoping if it was due to transmission or differential heating up, it will cool down in 2 days and check engine light will be off but that hasn't happened.
I'd need to then take the car to the dealer now and I'm confused whether should I be upfront and mention that check engine light came on after the track or try and hide.
Not sure tracking the car has voided the warranty.
Did some of you had any similar previous experience and did you share that with your dealer?
Please suggest, thanks.

Also, I think, I wouldn't be able to hide this (I've been to the track) as these cars record so much of information. If they'd want to know, they'll eventually know.
What are your thoughts?

Have you pulled any codes with a reader? I would want to run a scanner first and possibly see if it is something simple, if not then go to the dealer. I wouldn't lie, but I wouldn't offer detailed info if you don't have to.

Its AMG, made by the those who got their name by racing and those cars are made overengineered and beefed up to withstand that kind of usage so it should be fine to let em know it happened during some spirited driving. Just pull that code with any scanner and see whats in there, it may be something simple you can just erase and forget bout it.

Many warranties are limited to on road use and a track is not covered. Do not DO NOT offer that you were at a track, only that you were driving fast, it went on then off, then on. If they find the info, you were not lying, you just didn’t mention where the fast driving was.

Thanks guys! Really appreciate your views.
Unfortunately, I don't have a scanner. For now I've got an appointment with the dealer for 24th Aug (that was the earliest one which was available).
While booking the appointment via email I didn't mention that it was after the track day specifically. If they'd want to know more on day of the appointment then I'll share the details.
Will share here how everything goes on that day.
Thanks again!

Dropped off the car at the dealer this morning and got an update later this arvo.
There is misfire from cylinder 7 and they'd need to replace the ignition coil for which they'd need to keep the car for a day or two as the coil will be ordered from the warehouse in Melbourne.
All will be covered in warranty.
Now I'm only wondering if this caused from pushing the car to the limits on the track or is it just random and can happen anytime with this engine? What are your thoughts?

Random and mostly fail when temps are very cold or very hot. Otherwise it’s all intermittent and not really noticed. I’ve had this happen in every vehicle regardless of type or type of driving.

Thanks, makes sense.
Update on the car
I picked up the car yesterday evening from dealership. All covered under warranty, replacement of ignition coil and labour.
Driving happily again with rumbling and cracle/ pops.

How did it feel on the track? Have you driving any other cars for a nice comparison? The AMG driving academy don’t offer SUVs to track, only the c63, e63, GT, etc mainly sedans or non suv cars. Always curious how a GLC, the smallest of the bunch, would run
