GLC 63 s (SUV or Coupe)
I am considering buying GLC 63 s. Does anyone have an experience from both SUV and Cupe variant and can tell me which one is better. What are the pros and cons etc. Btw, I visited an official MB retailer in Slovakia (Europe) and I tried to configure GLC 63 s model but there was just a Coupe option. Are there some restrictions for SUV variants in Europe?
Not everyone NEEDS/ WANTS a rounded off rectangular slab to move through space and time and the slight extra storage between the X253 and the C253 is not a sales point for all or even needed. I’ve moved house, taken 2 mountain bikes and all equipment INSIDE the back of my GLC 63s Coupe with zero issues as well as camping, sleeping etc etc.
Most Americans do not like coupes/ wagons/ hatchbacks in many forms - although this is a generalization obviously as there are many intelligent people with open minds, yet they are hard to find; whether that be from a lack of design knowledge, taste of just the ubiquitous garish visual habits they generally have, who knows. Get the stats out now hey…!? We could slap generalizations around about American design/ taste, fashion, people all day both Pos and Neg yet that exists in all countries to a degree. That being said, only they are part of an eclectic few who exclaim that America is the greatest country on Earth…F’ing LOL to the sheer arrogance given their history both past and present.
So cars…
TBH, either car is good and if you love the sound of a V8’, sensible speed and stability with a bit of suave style, simultaneously being able to take the family on a trip or pack up the big boys toys and go on a trek, you’ll love the car!
Both cars go through front tires faster than ANY car I’ve ever owned. The front tire judder is extremely annoying and actually detrimental to the cars overall health suspension wise and does damage to the front bearings and related hardware over time, such is my case now due to the inherent flaw of the suspension design. All season tires are hard to come by if at all in the staggered, non-square set up. The car is a heavy beast for the size, which you do feel when driving as it speeds through the streets along with your money after fuel costs or chewing the tires every time you turn a corner and or generally speaking…spending near or over a thousand dollars on most wear’n’tear repairs post warranty if you don’t have the time, space, tools or inclination to DIY.
Personally I love Coupe designs, even some of the classic muscle American cars such as the 1966/67 Dodge Charger…LOVE that car, even with all their inherent design flaws electronically and mechanically. That being said, the GLC 63s Coupe feels and looks like a massive bicep muscle flexing as it smashes the streets with its sleek lines and masculine profile.
The 3 quarter rear view is my favorite with the massive rear wheels enveloped by the beefy stance of the rear arches and the slightly over exaggerated spoiler attached to that lovely coupe profile.
Interior is actually really good, more so with the newer models - I still prefer the rotary wheel over the touch pad. Plenty of space and the coupe does not detract from that, myself being rather tall, no problem front or rear. Unlike the biast and many dishonest reviews who actually jack up the front seat to its highest position, then complain how the car has no head space, I can actually say that is straight up BS.
If you can afford the maintenance and up keep, need a sporty and thirsty SUV that gives family people the sociopathic nature of the car, where you can poodle along gracefully with the kids and the female leech as well as drive like a knowledgeable performance driver with the car actually being beyond most mortal men and their general driving abilities, then this car is a great choice.
I’ve done over 96,000km in my car thus far, driven far and wide, beaten on it in a respectable manner and never found that I’ve wanted MORE, needed MORE in either space and or power because the car has enough, IS enough.
If you need more, get a larger SUV…yet don’t compromise what that entails by trying to make it a fast car as almost all or most guys do.
TLDR…Nutshell review:
Pos +
* Great car either…or
* Great space for a family with 2kids and the sociopathic and narcissistic leeches we all abide by and or rent.
* Highly versatile in its capacity and capability.
* Great design interior/ exterior both the X253 & C253.
* Practical daily driver if you don’t let that male ego take the wheel.
*Awesome engine - performance and sound.
* Extremely good for long drives whether a camping trip or to a track day.
* Keyless entry is great once you get a faraday wallet for the key that’s convenient and the touchless boot/ rear hatch opening is great when your hands are full or you need to dump a body or the leech in the back j/k…maybe!?
* HUD and displays are great.
* Aug^Reality is useful if you have newer models.
* Berm sound system is good but not great if you’re an audiophile.
* Get a winter rubber mat set for the front and back, all GD.
Neg -
* Fuel costs
* Tire choice and cost Vs the longevity of the tires due to the flawed front suspension and attached hardware design.
* Extremely loud/ annoying/ somewhat damaging tire juddering when turning mid to tight radius’s.
* General repairs are costly post warranty, it’s a Merc after all.
* Weight
* suspension looks too raised/ high - personal opinion
* brake pads/ rotor wear can be excessive due to weight and driving style etc etc.
* Front oil cooler is VERY susceptible to rock damage.
* Front lower radiator space collects rocks and can do damage if not cleared out and checked regularly.
* Even when newly purchased, do a laser wheel alignment asap.
I’m sure there’s more so add to either from one’s own experiences whether Pos/ Neg.
Let the comments rage.

OP - as others have said, it's really personal taste on the looks. No more, no less. Great car in either form.
Even though I'm beyond the age of a typical hot-hatch lover, I still gravitate back to that, given an option. I find I like the SUV body style a little more because, to my eye, in black, lowered slightly, with proper flush wheel spacing, the GLC63 proportions give off a muscular hot hatch vibe. To each his own though
Mine is never going off road, and I generally dislike SUVs otherwise so my opinion may be far enough in the weeds that it's not all that helpful, but thought I'd post w/a perspective
Good Luck!
I don't need the extra space of the SUV style and I like the look of the Coupe style.
I would just stick with a normal sedan but after driving my BRZ for 7 years in NYC, I want something that sits higher and can deal with average amounts of snow without turning the front bumper into a plow.

I’d put in a quib here about the fact that you obviously find reading comprehension hard…but, there’s no point is there.
Ah Aussie Aussie Oi…good to see a fellow Vegemite Muncher on board mate. Australians, we LOVE our coupe’, wagons, hatchbacks, panelvans, utes and beauts on board. To all our mates who disagree, tell them to GFThemselves all factual like and be done with it.
Rear window visibility is neither good nor bad with the various visual aids…and if you know how to use them he he he.

That was actually funny mate, thank you. See, having a sense of humor is not necessarily hard. Keep up the reading comp classes though, I’m rooting for you…I believe in you. Many don’t, but I do.
