I found a metal shard that got jammed sideways into my tire thread. I removed the shard and there is no leak but I can see the wires if looking into the hole. Should I try to glue it or just replace the tire? Seems like it would compromise the tire integrity. Pics attached, what y'all think?
As said, tyre integrity has been compromised, even though no air leakage.
That is a weak point prone to fail sooner than later.
And I suppose you do not want it to fail at an odd moment (eg during motorway crusing).
I opine a replacement of the said tyre and the corresponding opposite one.

The worst feeling in the world is looking at your tire gauge and seeing you have a tire going down.
The one gauge I look at all the time is tire pressure.
Replace it, the cost and time now will save you aggravation in the future.
Also, a blow out on the highway is a concern, your tires are your contact to the road.
Better safe than sorry.

Yeah your biggest concern is corrosion of the belts. They are no longer protected now, so sooner or later they will start to corrode and weaken.
