2020 AMG GLC 43
It's...fine. I'm a bit annoyed by the massive middle screen, but the vents being higher is nice (my arm blocks them in my 2020). Outside it's okay, but the rounded corners might reduce interior space, I dunno. Nice to see the four-cylinders (with the added electric on the 63) getting great horsepower, and I'm sure the gas mileage will be far better than current gen. So I guess that's something. But will it be as fun as the V6s? And how much will these things cost?

Overall - Meh.

Yeah looks good. But there is not much stylistic distinction between the 43 and 63. Aside from the rims, exhaust tips and diffuser it seems. Makes the 43 much more worth it if you change the rims out.

Ya, was hoping for more styling differences.

No Airmatic suspension?? I hope for the US it's an option. I am looking to get a 2024 GLC43 and will be comparing it to the updated SQ5 when that releases in 2024 as well. I would imagine Audi would have the air suspension in theirs but not rear wheel steering. I just like the interior of the GLC43 better than the updated (spy photos) SQ5. The GLC looks much more luxurious.

I know I am nitpicking but the air suspension does improve ride over steel springs even with adaptive dampers. Plus, I do raise the suspension when I go snowboarding and hiking.

At this price and this model, it's all about the toys, tech and options. Why not get all the goodies?? It's not about true practicality here (yes they are relatively practical) because if it is we would just get the non AMG/non S models.

469 Hp is massive? okay whatever. Funny-you take a 4cyl and start pushing that kind of power through it, won't last as long as the V6 would. Will be interesting to see how well these motors handle. My Focus RS was alot of fun but you can opnly push these little buggers so far before they start to unravel. Don't get me wrong, day to day car I am sure they will be great, but I wouldn't wring it's neck alot for sustained periods. Love my 22 GLC43 and I traded in a 21C63 for it, that's how much I liked the BiTurbo v6!

You will find that the GLC 63 SE won't move quite the way you might think by just going with the power numbers on paper. What they keep kinda quiet about is that the full 617 hp will only be available for 10 seconds and only if you push past the kickdown switch. Sustained power is significantly lower. On top of that this new GLC 63 weighs 5092 lbs, LOL! The battery will always have some charge to help with acceleration, but at some point you might be down to only the 469 hp and maybe a little help from the e-motor to move that elephant.

Of course, power isn’t everything as these latest AMG GLCs are quite porky, tipping the scales at 1,975 kilograms (4,345 pounds) for the 43 model and a hefty 2,310 kg (5,092 lbs) for the 63 S E Performance
Another flop with a 750lb battery.

Yup, what a joke. 500 pounds more than my 2019 GLC63 and 700 pounds more than a 2023 Macan GTS. A Model X Plaid is only 300 pounds more yet has a factory 2.5s 0-60 time, and the price will be comparable -- would take that in a heartbeat over some Frankenstein hybrid. Complete fumble by Mercedes. I love the AMG brand and hate that I'm going to have to leave it if I want/need to replace this car in the near future.

This seals the deal for me. I will be buying our 2021 GLC43 at the end of the lease. I cannot give up that wonderful engine and sound.

5092?!?!?! I knew it was heavy but I didn't expect that number, car is in a desperate need of a diet.

Did anyone else also notice that MB for (first?) time ever launched the 43 and 63 S models right beside each other? It was usually always the 43 first then 63 S. Shows soooooo (/s) much about how Mercedes gives a damn about their ICE amgs anymore.

Makes me appreciate my '21 GLC 43 with the sport exhaust and carbon fiber interior even more. I was lucky enough to pay below MSRP and still be able to fully customize it just how I wanted in Feb '21 before the price increases hit. I get the EPA challenges every manufacturer is facing and the bellyflops they have to around them but these cars don't make me want to get the new ones. Also, the all-digital interiors are ugly and toy-like especially with even more gloss, get even uglier with finger smudges instantly, and at night with all the lights to me looks like a soviet circus in the '80s. I am good, thanks.

Hmmm not a lot of love for these two SUVs it seems, no activity on this since end of July and it is September already while the W206 forum with the 43 and 63 S E Performance gets at least some activity weekly.

I am not an SUV person but I mean, I will straight up admit that I think these two SUVs look better than expected, although it is getting increasingly difficult to tell them two apart compared to X253 gen, especially true in the front.

I totally agree with you on the cheap and outdated interior in a recently rented 2023 European Audi Q5 diesel. The car was spacious and had no issues at a number of tough Swiss passes, but its interior was dull and cheap, and no comparison to my 2022 GLC43. It was a VW all the way...

Yup, same here. I prefer the smoothness of a V6 engine. From the reviews I had read and watched when shopping/researching for my current 2022 GLC43, pretty much every article and video indicated that the previous gen GLC43 engine was by far the best in the class. Also, I prefer the interior looks of the previous gen; it looks and feels more like a car. The new one just feels like you are in a spaceship. And the lack of physical buttons in the new one? Ouch!

Don't get me wrong, I am sure the new gen has a number of features that are better than the previous gen, but I just like the feel of the previous gen.

I think what MB will find it’s the AMG V8 that makes these cars so special, it’s in the DNA. My view it’s what makes the Porsche GT3 with that glorious flat 6 that revs to 9k RPM, and they will not change anytime soon it’s the brand. These are the 3 cars I will not sell because of the engines, will only sell the GLC for a proper upgrade if they go back to the V8!

As you mentioned Porsche, not to mention them ditching six cylinders once in the 718 was a disaster and backfired, I wish MB realized how much the V8 means to AMG fans like how much the six meant to Porsche fans.

Is it the Dyson V6 by chance? That "might" explain why. /s
