GLC 43 MST Intake Installed

I put it off for quite some time, but I installed the MST intake today. It took just over an hour from opening the packages to starting the car. I didn’t unplug the battery. Once I got the hood/bonnet open, I put the keys in the house. The only issue I had was one of the ignition coil bolts didn’t want to budge so I skipped it since there were two other mounting points holding the frame into place.

MTC catted DPs will be here tomorrow so we’ll see when I can get them fitted. Hopefully, next week the Wagner charge cooler arrives, too. Can’t wait to see numbers once it’s remapped.

I’ve driven it, but it’s been so windy that it’s hard to hear it with the windows down. Inside, I can hear the blow off from the turbos now and the intake sound is much more pronounced. My kid noticed that it sounded different in Sports+. It is more aggressive. Performance-wise, I haven’t opened it up so I can’t really tell. Response driving around town is good though.

I’ve tried not to get too pumped about it because I don’t want to be disappointed. I want to give it some time and drive it under my usual conditions to get a better sense of whether it improved anything or not. I’m not concerned about having the “cool turbo” sounds; just performance.

Eurocharged told me there was no point in the Wagner unless you're going with upgraded turbos.

I just did the Vivid intake on mine.

I’m future-proofing just in case I decide to pull the trigger. Lower IATs aren’t a bad thing. I’m researching fuel options…mainly the HPFP. I may still go ahead with the upgrade LPFP. Time will tell.

If you are planning to keep the car for a while, you might want to also look into the IAT mod: https://mbworld.org/forums/c450-c43-...s-ic-pump.html
This mod you should consider as well: Oil Pump Solenoid: https://mbworld.org/forums/w212-amg/...solenoids.html

Thanks for the links! I hadn’t come across those yet so I’ll add them to the list.

You're welcome, for what it is worth, I am doing the oil pump solenoid mod soon (didn't have much success after several tries due to my arm too short and other limitations), it is not the easiest connector to get to but it is doable with the right tools. Hope you have better luck but I am not giving up on this one. The benefits of not having this solenoid are huge.

I tried it from up top, but couldn’t get it. Catted DPs are going in on the 8th so it’ll be done by then.

Good job, did you end up having to remove anything to get to the oil pump solenoid?

OP, unrelated to your topic but I just wanted to say thanks for the video you sent me, I wasn't able to reply to the PM you sent for some reason so I went ahead and found your thread here to say thank you. It confirms the noise I am hearing is abnormal when putting vehicle in Park, I just don't know what it is.

Initially, I thought it is the parking pawl but the sound is completely different and I shouldn't be hearing it inside the car with the windows closed which you don't have that sound. Thanks again.

Thanks again! By the way, this is the noise I am talking about.. and I had been struggling to figure it out since July last year. Well, two noises, one is a whining/whirring the other is a tick/click. The former happens only when shifting from P>D to P>R, parking brake was off all the time. The latter noise is a loud click/tick noise that is followed after pressing park, the tick/click noise strangely also happens when automatically shifting from Gear 7 to Gear 8 as well as heard in the video. If you have an idea what it might be, please kindly let me know. If you don't have an idea, please don't stress about it, you helped a lot already, thank you!

Don't think they make it anymore. Not in the states anyway. I think Alibaba has one but it's gotten pretty expensive... like 1500 or so.
