JoeMa, I find the Night package goes well with light-coloured bodies as the contrast can be striking. Conversely,the bright trim is a bit lost on the silver painted body.
I think the Night Package looks best. What do you think?
I'm in-between. Both are fine, and I guess the $750 difference sways me towards the standard. I like the chrome-look trim with white as well as the black.

I'm fine with most of the bright trim pieces on the non-Night version, I just don't care for the painted silver look of the grill crossbar. The blacked-out version looks so much better (to me). Personal taste is subjective so to each his own.
Interior trim H35 is called “designo® natural grain brown ash," but it looks black in the DOG. The German Configurator has “designo® wood ash sealed black open-pore” that looks identical. Looking closely at the high-res photos on that site I think it is actually a very dark brown that is almost black. I think they are the same. Cost in Germany (less VAT) is 700 euros. I like it a lot; very sophisticated.
So MBUSA seems to have recognized their error. The H35 "designo® Natural Grain Brown Ash" has been changed to "designo® Natural Grain Black Wood" trim in the order update I received today.

I didn’t see a production start date. How does the ETA translate to a date? Yours shows Port 70505 so I assume that’s the build completion date, ready for shipping?
Yes. I check it every day and they've still got the 2019 on there. With the debut at LA people are going to want to go to the site and research further.

Not sure what the "Port" number means. I accidentally cropped the production date off; it was just below what I posted (1st decade February, 02/01-10/2019, 2 months from now):

That is not listed in the DOG but interesting to see that it was available to order nonetheless, I wonder what else is available that is not in the DOG.
I would be interested in adding this option also and trying to assess their safety for young children (6 &10 currently).
I’m surprised this is not standard. I just added the option to my order, but may remove it when I get the cost.

We seldom have rear seat passengers. I would be more interested to see if Magic Vision Control is available as a standalone; it is on the 2019 and also in Germany on the 2020.
An interesting development on the home front. My wife has agreed to the AMG Line Interior w/Black Nappa leather (never thought she'd go for it). I'll be calling the dealer tomorrow to make sure I can order the black nappa leather seats with the crystal grey headliner. If not, I'll go with the Espresso leather with crystal grey headliner. I love the look of the AMG steering wheel!

I do prefer a light colored headliner. A black headliner would just be too much black for my liking. I’ve never owned a black interior so I need to ease myself into it with this one.
