I believe "wholesale launch" means they are now available for retail sale by the dealers. You would certainly think now that there are demo vehicles at dealers that the configurator would be updated. I keep checking it every day hoping one of these days I will be shocked!

Greg and Ron, have you checked with your local dealers if they received demo units? My dealer didn't know they were coming, Vance apparently ships them to dealerships without prior notice.

My SA is out so I emailed him yesterday. Boise is probably 2-3 days longer delivery maybe longer with currnt storms in CA-so estimate they will be here Wednesday or Thursday. I wouldn’t be in town except it’s cold all over the SW. Snow in Vegas yesterday.

Does that Selenite Gray one have black molding over the wheels? I thought that was only on the 350’s.

Black moldings over the wheels are the basic trim in 350 and 450. Body color moldings are part of AMG exterior pkg.

It is fake although there is some speculation that if you get the AMG exterior pkg then it may come with real exhausts.

2016 GLE 350d

Got my pricing today, $72,000 base and with all options and sales tax $104,303.20. Its makes buying out my lease on the GLE 350d (that I love) look like a bloody bargain at $43,000 + tax. Yeah its almost 3 years old with 50,000 kms but totally problem free, amazing fuel economy and I really do love it.

Anyone have images of what "textured leather" that I am paying $1,990 for?

I wonder what the chances of the early prebuilt models being sent to dealers will have e-abc is... going to pick up one of these early models but not hopefull it will have e abc

Very unlikely, IMO. That is such an expensive option the dealers know the take rate will be really low.

agreed. I'm wondering if it's an option that they haven't even built cars with yet. Some cars at launch will only be built with a certain option setup and more exotic options get rolled out later in the production cycle. Hoping that's not the case, but if it is, then even ordering the car will see the car arriving later in the year.

need a new SUV in the next few weeks. They say everything in life is about timing. So true, and it might work against me this time

Well, they certainly had many built for press cars, and mine is now being built with that option. So I think it's probably a matter of a dealer configuring an allocation with it.

I agree, why not start getting some more orders and the buzz from various Social Media & Blogs. Just guessing but they may be planning an official Launch date with some advertising. It may also take a week or more to get Demo’s to all the dealers. Then here’s the question about availability dates of inventory that dealers have ordered. They have been building the GLE for months so there might soon be “For Sale Units” available or they might be folded in with our Custom orders. Im guessing the latter.

you have been correct about everything. The day after you said the cars were released I went I my dealer and he checked his system and it said the car had arrived either at their dealership or their nearby port center.

Do you know if besides the demo cars any cars have been assembled with e abc yet? My dealer is saying that besides the demo units a lot of cars have already been produced and are being shipped. He pulled a few spec lists for cars he's getting so it sounded truthful, but none of the 4 he showed me had e abc. Only one was even a 450 tho...

realy hope so. I think I'm dreaming that I might be able to drive home with a 450 with e abc by march 1. But I'll keep the dream alive!

Just checked with my Dealer in Baltimore. He said he only had three 350's. He said he would get the 450's in a month. Has anybody driven a 450 yet..??
