Beautiful!!! This is the exact config I ordered except that I added illuminated running boards. I also chose beige interior! Looks very nice. Please post interior photos. Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful! Makes me even more frustrated that the metal weave is now not a possibility till January orders. I do hope that changes. One never knows.
Gorgeous car!!
Anyone has experience with the burmester sound system, my previous gle had the in house MB speaker, with this burmester feels like the bass in in the front feet area and no matter how many times I calibrated it, it always feels like the loudest sound is in the driver side.
Maybe I was expecting more from burmester but feels to me like my old one regarding volume output, just a bit clearer.

I have the base Burmester in my GLC43. I am throwing $5k worth of caution to the wind and giving the upgraded Burmester 3D system a try in my GLE450 order (at the loss of the AMG exterior package). I, personally, did not think much of the base Burmester system; others may find it suits them fine. Although I am in my mid 50's, I am basically still a child and still listen to music fairly aggressively. I've have had some very nice aftermarket systems in my cars in the past (see the E63 in my sig). I also have had some very nice home systems, including Burmester components (actually 2 components in the past, disc player and preamp).
I was in the shop at the dealer when my tech buddy was pulling the door cards to replace my side glass with acoustic glass (ordered, but did not come with it; MB made it right). The speakers in the base Burmester system are just lightweight off the shelf chinese components. In and of itself, not a big surprise as I don't think Burmester actually manufactures speaker drivers themselves, but I was expecting something other than the lightweight cheap speakers used. After some investigation, I found that Burmester just "tunes" the base sound package. Now, that is a very simplistic analysis, and I'm sure that the drivers may be upgraded over the actual base system, but for $850, I suppose that is about right. In any event, I found to it be lacking, myself. I drove a base Cayenne with the Bose system during my new vehicle search that I thought sounded better than the base Burmester system in my MB, which uses a sort of bass-reflex solution in the front firewall/floor pan to get the bass-forward sound you mention(which is actually similar to how Bose gets some lower octaves out of a smallish speaker). At least this is how I understand it.
That's why I'm throwing dollars to the wind and ordering the 3D system. It is supposed to have upgraded drivers (I'm sure possibly also chinese, but of a stiffer cone material; asian markets are also coming out with much better stuff these days) and an actual individually amplified sub. Whether it is worth the $$ remains to be seen, and individually scrutinized.
Can we get a picture of the door sticker showing the payloads and axle loads on different models? I would like to see GLE 450 and does 3rd row seating change this?
I want to share some detailed images in case someone finds useful for their decision. I got my car last weekend. Great car overall. It has 3rd row seats.
Interior Lights. My wife thinks they look very old school and don’t match the modern design of this car.
3rd row seats. Very small. Not for adults in long trip. Seats are not as soft. Entry to 3rd row can be from either side.
Back of front seats. Sales consultant says it is for rear seats accessory if you want order a mount.
Illuminated running boards are too narrow. One could actually fall when getting out if facing inside, like after installing car seats.
Cars without Airmatic or EABC gets this small storage
Smaller control for steering wheel position and heating
@cnnn Im with you about the interior lights being kind of an antique compared to the rest of the interior lightning, maybe an oversight, be nice if the bulbs can be replaced with white soft light ones.
I like your interior choices. Is it Leather seats and what color and trim package is that?
Magma Grey/Black Leather
Natural Grain Grey Oak Wood Trim
I didn’t have much choice. It’s a in-lot car that matches most of my custom build without waiting 12-weeks so I took it. I like MB-Tex more but it’s not available with DISTRONIC.
Anyone have a photo with the front plate mounted. I have yet to see a US front plate on any photo.
I saw the huge license plate bracket and told them to leave mine off. A Police officer told me once that they won’t stop you if missing on the front but will ticket you if stopped for anything else. There are quite a few people around here running without one. If I can get mine to stick temporarily I will try to get a pic in the AM if no one else posts.
Thanks. That's not too bad, but it does disrupt the upper element on the lower grille. I'd be tempted to mount it below that, like I did on my '12 ML. It would disrupt some air flow through the lower grille, but I doubt harmfully. I think I will have the dealer not install the front bracket, then play with it. If you park on the street in Portland without a front plate meter patrol will hit you with an $85 ticket. My M4 mount has it removable in 10 seconds.
Someone wanted a picture of the load sill protector a few days ago so here it is:
Thanks Ron! That pic definitely shows it better than the DoG. I'll probably add it to my order, but I'm afraid to make a change now and risk something else being removed. I may go Greg's route and order it separately and swallow the extra cost

Here it is uninstalled. Very thin stainless (or perhaps aluminum). Installs with attached peel & stick tape. Part is listed as 167-693-00-00 EDGE GUARD.
