I'm with Greg, technically speaking. Mixing black (the absence of light) with white (the reflection of all wavelengths of light) does not create a color. It creates a shade or tone, but not a color. Gray can not be made by mixing colors of the color wheel, thus, it is not actually a color. But "Love that achromatic" doesn't exactly roll off the tongue. And, yes, I can be a nerd for this kind of grammatical nitpicking, so it's fun to see someone else pick up on it.
If you argue that black is the absence of color then I ask “What is in a tube of black paint?” A Chemist would argue that black is a color when you are referring to the color of pigments and the coloring agents of tangible objects.
