How’s it feel moving from the GLE 350d to the GLE 450?
The nose feels lighter, there is practically no NVH (noise, vibration, harshness) coming from the engine bay, there is less torque, but everything is smoother.
Sales rep I was talking to said that the headlights are too good and that's why.
I too will certainly miss foglights, maybe I will add some eventually...
Does anyone know why Mercedes went away from fog lights? Even if it wasn't super useful, it certainly added to the aesthetic look of their vehicles.
It's a shame it's not even an option to add on the 2020 GLE.
I thought this was interesting too. Was in Banner Elk in heavy fog last week and pressed the fog light button. Thought I hadn’t noticed other lights so got out and looked - and didn’t see anything. Then read the button activates the REAR fog lights. So checked it out & it’s kind of neat. Rear lights are bright LEDs inside the rear lights to increase visibility from behind. I do like that idea. I thought I read the headlights might adjust their beam pattern but I couldn’t tell any difference w them.

Even my old '12 ML had gone away from separate fog lights. Technology moves on. Remember when euro Volvos had those HUGE headlights?
Today separate fog lights look a little dated unless you have an off road rig, IMO. The GLE low beams have great cutoff like a fog light.
This may be applicable only to the Multibeam Intelligent Light System, which may or may not be enabled in the US: "The headlamps also have the right answers to inclement weather conditions that often lead to irritating reflections: in unfavourable light conditions, the extended fog light function illuminates the outer half of the road lane more brightly. Adverse weather light is activated when the windscreen wipers are operating constantly, specifically dimming individual LEDs in rainy and wet conditions. The two together ensure that oncoming traffic and the driver suffer less dazzle."

I didn’t have much choice. It’s a in-lot car that matches most of my custom build without waiting 12-weeks so I took it. I like MB-Tex more but it’s not available with DISTRONIC.
Why do you say you like MB-Trex more? I would think the leather is a better option no?

I can’t speak for Shocker, but the MB-Tex is far easier to care for and maintain, which is a definite bonus when you have small children. MB-Tex looks and feels great, too.
2 weeks in and loving my GLE450. Just completed a full frontal xpel wrap and looking to add a ceramic coating. Glad I waited for the GLE450 as I almost jumped ship to a X5.

I love that interior. I wish it were available with the AMG interior.
Seems the AMG interior only comes with black interior. I wish they still offered the light grey interior like I had in my previous ML. I guess the macchiato will grow on me.

In the UK the AMG interior was available black and white nappa leather seats which I have in mine, it is now only available with black nappa leather seats.

Found a 450 close enough to replace my order, over the MOON!
Took delivery last night! She's a dream. Delivered with 22 miles, I already have 184 miles today. It poured rain so it's not perfect or dry, but you get the idea!
