My SA texted me to say the second order has finally received a production date and, of course, it's a month later than was originally scheduled. It was supposed to go into production 2D November, but was assigned a production date of Dec. 10. As Fabbrisd previously noted, it's unlikely to get delivered before year end.
Glad we moved on and found one out-of state. It should arrive tomorrow or the day after.
Funny, I asked my SA if he knows where my car is so I have some idea what day to expect delivery, and he didn't know. I checked out the Mercedes Me Connect app for the first time and, boom, it shows that it is in New Jersey, so I can probably expect delivery tomorrow afternoon. Gotta love the tech in this car. I'm definitely getting excited.

It will need some TLC to keep from scratching the paint with all that dirt. It’s interesting that they didn’t clean it up or provide any protection. Our Audi came completely wrapped in white plastic and it was delivered by an enclosed truck. It was shipped by rail from Mexico and then by truck.
So I was advised today that the status of my GLE 53 has been updated to "B6" (that's the last step before it ships). I asked if she meant B7, because that's the code I found online, but she confirmed it's B6. (maybe the codes in Canada have slight variation's, I'm not sure)
The delivery date is now Nov. 12, 2019. But I'm told that date is rarely accurate so I should add a week to that realistically.
If there are no delays, I should be expecting the vehicle in 2-weeks! *fingers crossed*

Yeah cars sit all the time, proper cleaning and inspection would be in order for sure but I hardly think that is a "problem".

I am, however, glad to have one that rolled off the assembly line a month ago, after the sourcing issues and production delays were sorted out. For peace of mind, if nothing else.

I agree! Sun and heat take a toll on paint and plastics. If one was keeping a car 3-4 years it would be less of a concern rather than out 6+ years after warrant is out. Gray won’t fade as much but red or maroon will start to fade even with the UV paint protection.

It is worth it Paul, I was lucky in that they sold me the one ordered for the dealer principal otherwise I would still be waiting or ordered an X5. Not sure it is the dealer at fault, they pass on the information they receive from MB and then get the flak when it doesn't happen. Hope you get it soon.

I don't know how far it will affect the US subsidiaries but in Canada they will stop work unless they settle before Nov. 19. My to be produced date is Nov. 21 and I have my fingers crossed too!

That's not good...hopefully they can avert a strike.
Can anyone tell me how long it took to get a VIN after passing the production decade? My 350 was D1 November and my dealership doesn't have a VIN. Just wondering if that is normal or if there may be a delay in production that the dealer hasn't told me. Thanks.
