Production delays/ timeline
#1227
So now I am past six months since my original order date. Original production date was scheduled for August, which has been pushed back four times and is now November 4th. Current status as of today is still B3. I’m hoping that I’ll get a surprise in the next couple of weeks that my GLE 450 finished early but I’m not holding my breath that it’ll get completed in one weeks time. The only reason I didn’t want to go for the 580 or even the Cayenne that I originally wanted was that delivery would have been at the end of 2019. Had I known that my 450 would be so delayed, I would have just waited for one of the other two. Either MB isn’t really catching up with orders as they say they are, or mine is just lost in the shuffle. Either way, this experience certainly leaves a bit to be desired.

We ordered a new GLE450 in early September and have yet to be allocated a build date though we're first in line for the next one from this dealer (large, Nashville area dealer). My sales guy has always openly shared the computer screen with me. One GLE450 was just allocated last week and its assigned build date is 3D January.

I am at 9months into this GLE order process, re order again August and quoted end of year delivery. As time approaches end of the year my dealer goes quite again. I am waiting because I want to see how stupid this whole thing will get.

My sales advisor used to take a picture from his phone of the netstar screen and text it to me since they apparently have restrictions on screen capture ( or so i was told)
You may ask them to send a pic by phone and they should be able to do that

Ordered my GLE350 in early July for late September build. Finally picked it up last weekend. Took about four months. I ordered from a busy dealership so I figure they had more allocations than maybe some others.

That's what my SA does.

My GLE 53 (end of September production) - Scheduled Delivery mid-November.
Is now B5 (VIN has been provided to me) and is scheduled for mid-December delivery.
I'm surprised it actually made it to B5 (with a VIN provided) so quickly, but conversely, I'm surprised the delivery date got pushed back 1-month despite things moving along quickly.
I tried the VIN on mbdecoder.com and everything showed up, so it looks like things are moving along nicely!

My GLE 53 (Decade 3 September production) - Scheduled Delivery Decade 2 November
Is now B5 (VIN has been provided to me) and is scheduled for Decade 2 December delivery.
I'm surprised it actually made it to B5 (with a VIN provided) so quickly, but conversely, I'm surprised the delivery date is 1.5-months away from today if the production is complete.

Can't wait to get feedback on the 53. I might look at moving to one in a year or two. Speculation was that they were going to be a 2021 so that's a pleasant surprise to see them building soon.

I've just about given up waiting on my order and finally found a rig that has all five of my must-have options from another dealership at a 6 percent discount. We had spoken about the vehicle at the beginning of the month but couldn't meet on a price, but with the end of the month looming, they came back and met my asking price. Trying to turn the paperwork around quickly enough to make the purchase before the calendar flips. We'll see if it gets done. If not, I'll just end up waiting and hoping my second order production doesn't slip again. Fingers crossed we're able to get the paperwork turned in time and maybe take delivery next week.

2020 GLE 350 4Matic / Night Package / Premium Package / 21" Wheels
There's hope up here in Canada.
I ordered my MY20 GLE-350 (w/Premium Package, Premium Plus Pacakge, Technology Package, Night Package, Trailer Hitch, 21" AMG All-season Tires & Lane-Keeping Assist) right around August 8, 2019. The initial, anticipated delivery date was Oct.31 (at the day of ordering), but within a few days of that it was amended to November 30th.
After not hearing anything for quite some time I was able to get the kind attention of the dealer (super guys!) and they indicated on October 30th that the vehicle was "in production".
Two days later I happened to be in town (where the dealership is), and I was very kindly permitted to glance at the computer monitor's order display page - it indicated (if I read correctly) status B4, and an anticipated delivery date of December 4th.
Given the growing pains that the factory has gone through, I think this is a very good turn-around time for an order... I am absolutely thrilled!
Looking forward to getting the new vehicle in time for Christmas.

Finally some good news. My GLE, ordered in April, has finally shown some movement. It’s been in B3 status for the past seven months according to NetStar. My production date was originally in August and has been pushed back to Nov 10 with no change in their system. Just got word that the car has been released to carrier today and should hopefully be at my dealer in a couple of weeks. MB doesn’t seem to be updating their system regularly but I’m glad to finally see light at the end of the tunnel.

As of today 10/11/19 status it’s still B4....getting ready to cancel and move on...!!!! MB has really let me down....also concerned that if I would ever get it what problems will come with it since it started in production early July and went to B4 in late July...ordered 3/14/19

Just got news that my 450 should be arriving at the dealer next week.
I originally ordered it on first week of April. The SA was able to get a build, but without the E-ABC. I then requested a new build due to the missing item. The SA wasn't able to allocate a spot until mid June. The was was in production last week, and today I was informed that it should be arriving soon.
