The vehicle needs to be added to the Insurance Bureau of Canada's (IBC) database before I can get the insurance setup.

Vehicle is ready to go, just waiting for IBC to do their thing. So frustrating!

Do you mean ICBC (Insurance Co of BC)? I've had my car since the summer. There should be no hold up at the level of a national governing body, if there is one.

I think KJ is in Ontario so no. He bought a GLE 53 which is new and has to be added.

2020 GLE 53 AMG
I emailed IBC and someone was kind enough to make sure the GLE 53 and my car was added to the database by 3 p.m. I was able to pickup my car just after 4 p.m.!

Here's my timeline beginning to end:
Feb. 25 2019 - Ordered GLE 450 (advised June/July delivery)
Mar. 12 2019 - Advised metal weave delayed until Jan. 2020 Production (advised the other trims I wanted were not available either) - I elected to wait until Jan. 2020
Aug. 3 2019 - Changed my GLE 450 order to a GLE 53 (advised Nov. delivery)
Oct. 9, 2019 - Est. Production Start Date
Oct. 29 2019 - Production Complete - VIN Number provided - MBdecoder showed all my options
Nov. 7 2019 - Vehicle ready to be shipped
Nov. 12 2019 - Vehicle shipped
Nov. 19 2019 - Vehicle delivered

The total journey was 9-months beginning to end. However, once I changed my order to the GLE 53, it was only 3.5-months from order to arrival.

Congratulations! Can't wait to get your thoughts on the performance etc. What options did you get?

I'll have more driving impressions when I'm done the break-in period. Right now I'm just taking it easy for the first 1,000 miles.

I can say that there is VERY little body roll. Less body roll than a sedan despite being a bigger and taller SUV. In terms of comfort, it definitely soaks up bumps better than my C63S, but not as smooth as I imagined. I still got to figure out what the different suspension modes do (right now I'm in "pro" mode, whatever that means).

It's fully loaded except for the 3D Burmester (only I listen to loud music, but I can only do that when my baby isn't in the car, which means I'll be driving my other car anyway).

Here are my Options + $CAD MSRP (since it's not on the website yet):
GLE53 4MATIC+ SUV = $86,900
designo Diamond White = $1,600
AMG Carbon Fibre Trim = $2,500
Premium Package = $4,900
Comfort Package = $1,600
AMG Active Ride Control = $3,900
AMG Driver's Package = $2,100
AMG Night Package $850
Intelligent Driver Package $3,000
Head-up Display = $1,500 (this is a standalone option on the 53. On the 450, it's part of one of the packages)
Windshield Heater = $650
Soft Close Doors = $550
MBUX Interior Assist = $300
21-inch AMG 5-Twin-Spoke Wheels - Bicolour = $500
115V Power Socket = $150
+ Window Tint Front
+ MB (WeatherTech style) Floor mats
+ Wheel and Tire protection
+ Pre-Paid Maintenance

Got an email from sales yesterday, Car arrived Canada Brunswick port on Nov 10. But is facing a "service action" will not be dispatched until its completes the campaign.
I am assuming Brunswick port is the VPC ? and how long is usually the " service action" Recall ? Still don't get why most east coast 53 are taking delivery and my car has a re call action on it.

That is so crazy. They delivered your car to the opposite end of North America to put it on a boat to go all the way around North America to deliver it to you? I’m wondering if this is normal or this is a way of a avoiding using rail in Canada?

I think it is Brunswick GA. VPC (Vehicle Preparation Center) . My guess only .....Maybe this place is for final prep if something isn't quite right i.e. broken part, scratch, tears etc. I would be checking for repaint section when it comes in.

I think your are correct, just talked to my sale it’s Brunswick GA VPC. Will go on boat head down south and up to west coast to Canada. My car now has a date attache Jan 26 2020. But they not sure it’s ship date or arrival date.
still pretty silly I think, that would put me total 13 months to finally get a GLE.

Hopefully they get it moving before auto port cuts back 250 people as proposed. I think it’s about three weeks.

Just curious-did you get your 350 yet? I ordered mine July 9, was told it was built Oct 21, but they couldn’t give me a Vin on it.
followed up 2 weeks later and they told me it wasn’t built yet and MB Alabama cannot even give a production date. Almost none
available on lots here in Montreal. Went to another Dealer and he said MB says 3 months but it could be 5 months or longer.
MB USA is a disaster. Im still in limbo

I know that the 350 is moving a bit faster than the 450 but my 450 just arrived two weeks ago and I ordered mine in April. I had no status updates on net star at all aside from when it got locked in. Next thing I know, seven months later netstar says it’s at the VPC and would be delivered within a couple of weeks. It can be pretty frustrating but the GLE is worth the wait.

Thanks for your info. Dealer has no vin on it yet so no idea how long it will take. Unfortunately I cant wait in limbo and will leave
for our winter home in Phoenix next Saturday or I could be here all winter. Will leave it on order and decide when it comes in if we will
make the 4 day drive from Phoenix back to Montreal. Not alot of fun doing it twice and in the winter.

I would order another one. Ordered my GLE 350 early July. Still not built and no idea when. They say could be anywhere from 5-7 months or longer. Just depends what you put on it and what parts they are waiting for or have been defective. Nice thought. Are they going to be
as reliable as a Jag? I have one, now Im not too sure about MB

Nice build. I have a 350 Black with night Package,Premium and Tech with Lane keep assist as a side option.
hope you are correct on seeing alot of them. I’ve been waiting 5 months and still not even built. Almost none at any dealers
here in Canada. Im in Montreal. Maybe 10 but none I would want. Always missing something

2020 GLE 450
Very frustrated, in July I placed an order for the GLE 450, thought by November or early December I would get the car.
All this time I've been waiting on a build date, finally got one from my guy at Rallye Motors. He told me my build date is on 2/20/20, meaning I probably won't see my car until late March or April 2020.

It's really insane. @fabbrisd1 gave some good advice earlier on this thread, I think, which was to find a 450 on a lot somewhere rather than waiting for an order that is going to take forever. Use CarGurus.com or AutoTrader.com or a similar site and do a nationwide search until you find a rig that meets your specs. Most places will deliver nationwide (I found California dealerships were largely unwilling to ship out of state and MB of Baton Rouge also would not). New York, New Jersey, North Carolina and Florida dealerships were among the best ones I spoke with. They were all willing to deliver out of state and most were willing to negotiate. MB of Bonita Springs in Naples, Fla., was a notable exception. They were willing to deliver, but only offered an $1,100 discount on a rig their GM had already put 1,900 miles on.

Not sure what you are looking for, but one of the dealers I have been in touch with sent me this yesterday, which is a pretty nice build that I had to politely decline.

I am sorry to hear of your ongoing delays. Almost a month ago I was shown my order/build was in status "B4", which I believe means '2 days to completion' - however, there was no VIN attached to it at that time. As of last week it is STILL in status B4, and still no VIN number... no idea what's going on. Here's hoping we all get good news in time for Christmas...

Learn from me, I order 450 almost one year ago. Re order 53 August, now MB says it’s facing a service action car stuck at Brunswick GA won’t be here till 2020 February. If you want to wait prepare to wait. Don’t hope or wish anything because MB will disappoint you 100%. What’s worst is their Canadian customer support line, don’t bother calling you will only get more upset. Like reading from a text book.

yes I am one upset customer but nothing you can do about it.
