"Deliveries in the NAFTA region increased last month by 7.7% to 38,601 units. Mercedes-Benz was able to deliver a total of 33,721 cars with the star in the core market of the USA in November and achieved significant growth of 8.7%. In addition, Mercedes-Benz was the highest-selling premium brand in the United States last month. For the first time in the year to date the Stuttgart-based company with the star reversed its sales trend in the USA: unit sales increased by 0.7%. Deliveries by Mercedes-Benz in Canada increased by a double-digit percentage last month.
Sales of SUVs in November totalled around 76,300 units of the GLA, GLC, GLC Coupé, GLE, GLE Coupé, GLS and G-Class- an increase of 10.5% last month and a new November record. Strong double-digit growth was achieved by the GLC as well as the new GLE. Deliveries of the GLE in the German domestic market alone more than doubled compared to the previous year. The G-Class set a new record for sales in November with a double-digit increase of 20.2%."

It looks like if you order now you'll get one in a the regular 60-90 days, but if you ordered back when they were having all the issues, your order is just lost somewhere. One thing is for sure they're really cranking them out now, over 6K sold in the U.S. last month alone. The factory will have to expand yet again once the new GLE Coupe comes online next spring and all the GLS variants are added. Mercedes' SUV lineup is or will be as strong or stronger than anyone's when the new GLA, GLB join the already refreshed GLC, new G, GLS and GLE.

Even the new "Global" factory control system was never designed to handle "incomplete build" - so all the retro/open/to-be-completed rigs are in ozone until each has been completed then goes back in a completed ready-t-ship.

We have had a GLE450 on order for a couple of months with delivery scheduled for February. Our dealer just informed us that two of our ordered options (EABC and comfort package) would not be available "for the foreseeable future". We will cancel.

Try checking dealerships around for in-stock vehicles that might be close to your liking. I was at my dealer yesterday looking at a GLC for my wife and they had 3 unsold GLEs with pretty good options. You might get lucky.

Well, dealer called back. "It was all a misunderstanding! EABC and comfort package are available! We will just be pushing your order out one month (March)." This would be my first MB and I have to say that after this I don't trust them. Not a good position to be in with your premium car supplier. Given that I have had only two delays, my customer experience is not yet as bad as some others and I will think about my decision to cancel for a bit. It seems like a nice car, and other SUVs that I like as much as the GLE are not available until spring. Hmmm.

As you can see from this huge thread, the entire order process is messed up and many of us had gone through the same. Having said that, I am so happy with the car, I almost forgot about it already.
If you are willing to put up with the uncertainty and can afford to wait, it might be worth it. Just make sure to arm yourself with a lot of patience and don't rely completely on the dates they give you.

would anyone know how to get Mercedes to extend my lease? my lease is up end of month, putting in an order for a GLE580, id like to keep my current car till i take delivery of the new one

I was in a similar situation. MBFS will only expand a maximum of 2 months. I ended up turning in my car because my new order GLE. 450 was delayed. MBFS are not easy to deal with and not too agreeable to extensions based on my experience.

With the delays all GLEs are facing you might need more than a few months, I would budget 6 months at least based on the average wait times here.
Isn't your dealer willing to work with you on that, sometimes they can do an extended loaner or give you an older car they have for sale on the lot.

I called MBFS and explained about the order/production delay. They asked for my order number and extended my lease for 6 months. I wound up only needing it extended for 3; turned the key in when my GLE450 arrived and I literally received my refund check from property tax abatement yesterday!

I was just notified by my salesperson that my GLE is "...right now travelling on a train in United States..." - it is bound for Canada.
Would anyone happen to have a rough idea of the timeframe from the plant to the dealer?

My GLE 450 arrived in Mid November in Saskatchewan.
I was told on a Monday (Oct 28th) that the car was on the rails passing through Cincinnati, 15 days later (November 12th) I was told the car had been unloaded in Calgary. By the time it was trucked to my dealer and PDI’d, the car took 8 more days for a November 20th delivery.
The production occurred in a timely fashion as the dealer ordered it with their August allocation.

The Truth About The GLE Delivery Problems
I finally had a coherent conversation with the dealership who is absolutely disgusted at the GLE delivery issues.
I ordered my GLE 450 in March 2019 and still have no delivery date. It was given a VIN in July and is in the B-4x process.

You may have better luck if you reorder. Here in Spain if after a 6-month waiting period the car has not been handed you can cancel the order.
