Production delays/ timeline

Of note: the vehicle was 'stuck' in B4 status for a while, too - the dealership General Sales Manager reached out to the plant, and upon that call it was 'located' in a holding area... waiting for final inspection. As soon as the vehicle WAS found, the plant moved the inspection date up - it was on a rail car just days later.

Good to hear, we ordered about a month after you. Was this a 450 or a 350?
The Best of Mercedes & AMG

Interior smelled musty and for a brand new leather clad interior, this was not acceptable to me.
there were leaves in all the cracks and crevices around the hood and the moon roof. Clearly sitting in the weather.
The headlight plastic was already showing signs of oxidation, clearly sitting in the sun for an extended period.
The tires were brown except where they cleaned and sprayed glossy stuff on them, again, not an issue but for a brand new car, it was clear this car was not to delivery quality.
there is nothing wrong with this but knowing this is not 100% up to standards, I refused delivery and reordered.
This is where the sales manager decided to “Talk me into” taking it and of course we did not and said we had until the end of the day to decide, we laughed at him and walked away. My sales person had the state of mind to acknowledge I was not 100% happy. They will surely sell this high demand vehicle but it will not fowl my garage.
Be careful of these sitting vehicles. There is a sticker just under the rear tire carrier are that shows when the rear floor was installed so it’s easy to see manufacturing data.
again, nothing wrong with the car but my own car sits in the garage 90% of the time so why take one the manufacturer let sit outside. Another 5 months to wait I guess or be enticed by some other brand in the meantime. Make sure you inspect your vehicle thoroughly if you have a concern. If the dealership would have taken the time to freshen up the car and clean up all the buffing compound left in all the cracks, I may have overlooked the little stuff but it all added up to less than 100% happy.
*I have referred to it as a June order on other threads. I got mixed up. It was July.

The problem cars show production from last year and yet just being shipped to dealers. So, all the GLE sitting in the Alabama sun baking for months will have a 2019 production date.
