At what angle was the metal piece to push, from middle point of the trim upper edge to the rubber opening below the trim (about 30 degree), or from the trim upper edge right above the rubber opening to the ribber opening (90 degree)?
Behind the trim is there open space to push the metal strip, or a specific hole or path to push through?
Thanks!

"For the final set of cable, I did not remove the trim piece (since it will take a long time to try to do it safely). Instead, I use a plastic pry tool to open up a small gap, then use a piece of metal I have laying around (on most wiper with open "frame" model, it has two metal strip on each side of the wiper rubber, I use that) and push the metal through (from window to the rubber tube opening), tape the cable to it, and pull it back."
After you remove the rubber boot for the wiring, don't try to push the fishing wire at at angle, but rather go directly straight up (position as shown in the picture) from boot side to windshield side. You will need to have a trim removal tool to pry open the glass side a little bit to get the cable through (If I remember correctly, there are the cables for heated rear windshield so you might have to move around the fishing wire to get it through). Once you got it out, you can then slide the cable inside the trim to the position you want.

Thank you very much. Followed your detailed guidance, I used a zip tie to push from boot side to windshield side and got it done within a couple of minutes.

Can anyone speak to the BEST WAY to get the wire(s) from front windshild area to rear window area?

- wire around A pillar and and down and back

or
- thread wire under headliner?

How?
What's best or easiest??

Be careful of the A pillar airbag.

Headliner under the door seal would be the most direct route, but you got to make sure that when it pass through the pillar (a pillar, b pillar, etc), it should be routed behind the side airbag.
I personally routed mine down and under the trim below the door, but that requires more work, including removing a few trims, and also a longer wire. I personally think this is better as there are factory wire harness running via the same area.

Instead of running a 2ch system, I bought two 1ch just to avoid running that wire from front to back. Then you only have to wire from the rear fuse box.https://mbworld.org/forums/gle-class...ml#post8805078

Okay, everyone. Here's a curveball for you.

My priorities for using a dashcam:
1) forward view to caPTURE ACCIDENTS
2) rear window view to capture accidents
3) driver's window view to capture police encounters should I ever have one.

What's the best way / best location to capture priority #3. Is there a non-obtrusive (iie., non-tacky looking) way to locate a camera to cover the driver's side window?

You'll want a 3ch one, something like this:

Does anyone have instructions / pictures for threading the wires to mount the rear camera on the lower edge of the window glass? Has anyone done that with internal routing of the wires (behind the panel)?

In Post #81, you were explaining your wire routing from the fusebox to the rubber tubes passing wire to the rear window/door (I think):
"In the hole in the middle there’s an aligned that is glued to the headliner. This was where I fed the cable down into the ceiling and then it goes straight down the side pillar into the fuse box area. Then just follow the same path as before."

What is "an aligned?"
I don't follow this.
Are you saying there is a channel from the top that feeds down the pillar to the fuse box area? The hole in the picture?

Please explain this or how the wires can be routed from the fuse box up to the rubber tops at the top.

Many thanks.
