My touch to lock doors are inconsistent, dealer told me it might be interference from the signal of my cell phone if the keys are in the pocket side where I where my phone. I don't believe it!
On the odd occasion mine doesn't work I just wiggle it (in my pocket) and it works, no big deal but never had to do this before.
If it’s like my original Fob it will get worse. Mine worked great for the first month, maybe one or two failures. By month 3 it was over 50% and some days 100%. I found that it fails more often when you have driven somewhere spending 10 minutes stationary, then get out and try to lock it. Short trips or if you have walked much it usually works. I hope yours doesn’t follow that pattern.

Thanks Ron, only happened a couple of times on mine and doesn't seem to be getting worse - fingers crossed.
So I have had my GLE 450 since April. I had to take it in to get looked at. Three times now in traffic with cruise set it all of a sudden slammed on the brakes. The dealer disabled the options to adjust speed. They are clueless as to the issue. They said they need to talk the MB engineers. That was a month ago. So yesterday driving down the loop. No cars ahead of me. Tractor trailer in the next lane and I am even with his front bumper. The GLE does one loud beep and hits the brakes. Then just resumes a second later. It was not anything with moving out of lane. Just hit the brakes with cruise on. First three times I was in traffic doing 70. Alll I could think of is getting rear ended. But still no response from dealer. I am concerned!

I had very similar issue a few times on my GLE 450 2020: going 70mph on adaptive cruise control, it would suddenly for no reason disengage the cruise control and start dropping the speed. I am not sure if the car was braking or not. Please keep us posted.

That is frustrating. Do you now regret ordering/paying for that option?
I've never seen that happen on the highway, but it has happened in my old S class on back roads, where the vehicle mistook a garbage cab or mailbox for a pedestrian. But never had it brake, just beep. My experience with Distronic (3 vehicles over 6 years or so) has been positive. Sounds like something is wrong with your system.

I’ve had a few similar issues. There is a TSB that might help with this. As I recall the Camera and Radar aren’t properly synchronized. Rain, dirt and bug splatter seem to have an effect at times when lane markers are slightly faded.
Forgetting to turn off ALKA in winter may be another issue. This could be a lot worse in winter when sand makes the road dirty and snow/ice are present. A sharp brake correction could be dangerous on a slick road.
I have a 2020 GLE 450 purchases April 2019. I have had a few problems but the one which has been repeating is the Heat/AC control. On multiple occasions the AC will get HOT, the only way I can get it cool is to go to the lowest setting. Then it is too cold and if I go up 1 degree to 60 it gets HOT. This has happened over 6 times, dealer can not find or duplicate scenario. Told me I must be setting it incorrectly! It happens spontaneously while it is functioning normally then it is out of control. I bought the car in April and I think the heat would not get hot enough but before I realized it may have a problem I started with the AC on a regular basis.
Mine has just started doing the same thing. Did you ever get to the bottom of it ?
Well, good to know it's not just Mercedes SUVs having problems. This is a friend's few month old Q8 which died at a light, shifted into park and locked up.
I was at the Mercedes dealership and noticed that the Gle 450 with AMG package had true duel exhaust with the duel pipes venting through the exhaust tips. I noticed the Gle 350 with AMG package had fake duel exhaust tips with the duel exhaust pipes venting towards the ground also same strange setup for the Gle 450 without the AMG package. Very odd engineering why wouldn’t they make it all same.

Yes I agree it’s part. Of AMG package it’s just different set up as I described earlier . The only true duel exhaust I believe is the 450 with AMG package the rest are just cosmetic.

It probably costs a few more dollars for the “functional” exhaust outlets; it’s also a way to add more value to the package. What you don’t see without closely looking under the car, is that you also get a valves sport exhaust with slightly more volume in Sport & Sport+.
Can anyone advise if the sport mode works in conjunction with the air suspension in the GLE. So if you switch from comfort to sport does it regulate the air suspension to tighten up the spring rates making a firmer ride?

What is your experience with the air suspension and would you recommend getting it if you already have one? I’ve heard the basic suspension is similar to the sport setting in the air suspension.

I would get it again for several reasons. It gives you the flexibility of soft and firm and is similar in Sport Mode to springs except...On traffic calming bumps and other sharp bumps the Air is still better. You can lower for easier rear access to load and drop it for exiting passengers. A Luxury Car without Air Suspension just doesn’t seem like it would have as good of resale, I could be wrong. IMO, if you are buying on the low end of Options then no, but if you are Optioning up in the mid 70’s or higher I would get it.
