Talking ABSOLUTELY LOVE MY 2020 GLE350

I've had her for a little over a week and can't seem to wanna stop driving her. So far, no complaints on my end. She feels amazingly smooth on the road. Pick up is great, not a speed demon but that's fine by me. She's like a fine cigar over cognac. One must sip it to enjoy the finer things in life.

She's gorgeous! I just ordered the 450 loaded with about every option except E-ABC. I'm custom painting her satin matte black when she arrives in Fall/Winter! Enjoy. She is gorgeous!

I feel the same way! Had mine for almost a month. This is my 4th MB. I’ve felt the same about each. And each had a different personality/feel. My E classes had that luxury elegance. My C300 Sport was just a fun small demon to buzz around with.

The GLE 350 is an entirely different animal. It’s like a 747 cruising down the highway. So quiet, so smooth, so gorgeous inside. Everyone who gets in it for the first time and opens the door says .......wow. I am always looking for an excuse to go for a drive and sometimes late at night I’ll just take a small little cruise for about 10-15 minutes.

Same! Husband wanted me to get the 450 and I said not necessary I'd rather get another Chanel with the money saved lolz. Previously drove a 2010 C300. Was contemplating the 2019 GLE and saving money but the 2020 hit the market while I was looking and the 3rd row backseat and MBUX made it a no brainer. So glad that I made the decision to bite the bullet for the 2020. Obsessed!!!!!!!!!

Still in love with my GLE 350! I now have 2,100 miles on her. So smooth, so quiet, so enjoyable to drive. Haven’t had any issues yet.

Well, she’s 2 months old and 2,998 miles. Love it. And believe me the 4 cylinder turbo is fun to step on in Sport Mode!

I have to agree with you......mine is still smooth except that I have 6,000 miles in 2 months. I absolutely love driving my GLE.

Hi all,

I'm a newbie of this forum here, but have been an addict of driving M-Benz since 1995 (al brand new 1995 S320, 2017 GLC300W4, and now 2020 GLE350W4.)
I love the driving experience and the ride quality each M-Benz has offered.
I share your excitement of every moment riding on these amazingly engineered vehicles. Especially I love to find out / uncover the "real capability" of the DISTRONICS Plus DA2, DA3 packages.
With the latest MBUX I even purchased the augmented reality for navigation, and it definitely worths the money.
I also found excuses to get this amazing SUV on the highway. It's such satisfying driving experience.

But I had run into these bad moments with M-Benz navigation software, and same bad experiences that I had first observed some 20+ years ago.
Specifically, here are what really ruined my MBUX navigation experience:

1. Bogus routing results: so many times I set local destinations to my familiar locations just to verify if M-Benz Navigation has been improved, MBUX navigation had determined routes that were totally non-sense, way much longer, and often involving long U-turns. Comparing to identical destination on Google Map the arrival time was likely to be 15-25% longer
2. In one instance of a local neighborhoods florist destination, MBUX twice directed me to the wrong way of one-ways local streets
3. Providing wrong speed limits when I was on a 40-MPH with a 65-MPH. I wanted to take picture of this but unfortunately I was driving
4. MBUX Navigation failed to accomplish the same visual effectiveness and intelligence of appropriate auto zooming where zooming is necessary. I used Google Map as a reference here

So for now, though I still use MBUX Navigation exclusively for the augmented reality feature, I solely rely on Google Map as the primary navigation tool. I rest my phone on the console because it'd be a total embarrassment to have a phone attached to the windshield of such technologically advanced vehicle such as a 2020 Mercedes Benz.

Read the section of your manual titled, "Suggestions." The system should get better over time, at least for areas you frequently travel.

From the Daimler press release: "A unique feature of MBUX - Mercedes-Benz User Experience is its learning capability thanks to artificial intelligence. With its predictive functions, MBUX can anticipate the driver's wishes – such as a regularly used navigation destination."

CONGRATULATIONS!!!
I certainly can feel your excitement!
I waited for 3 1/2 months for my 2020 GLE350W4, and love every moment driving it.
Like yours, I also selected similar options: Night Package, AMG Line Exterior Package.
I'd imagine you went for the panorama sunroof too, right?
What about the Driver Assistance Package Plus and the Parking Assist Package? I went for these and have been learning quite a bit about its smart features in real time on every ride.

Thank you Greg.
I had started a conversation with MBUSA on this subject, and has gotten a generic marketing response. To which I had replied too.
I'll update here if real progress was made by MBUSA.

Certainly not a good answer, but also remember the Android/Apple CarPlay. Would be less obvious that the phone glued to the windshield

I actually began to use Android Auto today: no longer two voices for same destination, much safer, and definitely no phone on windshield .
The problem is the augmented reality no longer useable once Android Auto takes over the entire screen.
MBUSA had advised me to work with MB local dealer "MBUSA relies on our dealer network to diagnose and rectify any vehicle performance issues. In addition to specialized tools and training, authorized Mercedes-Benz technicians have access to a highly technical support team which includes MBUSA engineers."
From my perspective, this is a major defect when the navigation component failed its primary function. This failure is not limited to any particular vehicle.
This point was made clear to both MBUSA and the local service advisor.
Let's hope there will be progress.

Have you updated your maps? I found a great improvement after I did a manual update of my maps.

I left my SUV in shop for a complete flash a week ago. I don't know if that also include maps update.
I supposed maps update could help things such as identifying one-way streets or speed limits, but would unlikely improve the inferior routing logic.
Regardless, I'll manually update maps.
Thanks.

In Montreal, we have massive roadworks projects underway for the last several years. It is not over yet. Often, there are temporary road closures/detours that cannot be realistically updated in time. Even Google Maps has mistakes. The only GPS map system that consistently gives me correct daily updated maps and shows me where the police are hiding, is Waze. So I plug in my iPhone X and use that to navigate. If I lived in an area where there was no change in road/bridge detours, I would use MBUX Maps alone.
