Toll tags
Curious where people are placing their RFID toll tags? I'm in WA state so we have the Good To Go system but I think it's similar to many RFID-based systems.
I know the instructions are to place it immediately below or to the right/left of the rearview mirror. Given the the large camera housing, the tag is more visible than I prefer. I'm trying to see if there's a less intrusive (but still functional) place. If not, I was planning to put it high on the windshield, on the passenger side. We didn't get the acoustic package, if that matters.

I don't have a good answer for you, but I'm surprised car manufacturers aren't including these in the design of vehicles these days. I don't like the look of them in my windshield, so I usually just hold mine up to the windshield as I pass the toll.

I have the large EZ Pass mounted high on the passenger side near the rear view mirror. Not the best looking.

I have mine mounted under the mirror assembly. Can't see it from either front passenger position, but it is visible from the exterior. I use 3M dual-lock velcro, great stuff.

Same for me. NYS offers a front license plate frame option for those that can't get the signal through the windshield.

I have mine next to the rear view mirror on the drivers side (in Australia this is on the right). It doesn't obstruct my vision surprisingly from where I sit, and the passenger (left) side is where the dashcam would go due to the way the mount/cable is on my Blackvue.

I remember reading in the OM there are two areas in the windshield that allow greater signal transmission passthrough:
1) While sitting inside the car: immediately to the right of the interior rear view mirror
2) Dead center, at the bottom of the windshield.
I would post a link to the OM, but I'm at the office and GoogleDocs is a blacklisted site for security purposes.

Interestingly my Australian manual does NOT have the left side in it, but it has the same right side around the infrared reflective windshield. It mentions in my manual that it limits radiowaves up to the gigahertz range.

In Florida, we have RFID windshield stickers. I recently viewed a YouTube video in which the presenter placed transparent static glass film on a front corner of the sunroof and the Sunpass on the film. I think this is a great idea. It opened up one location on the acoustic glass and removed the bright green box/advertisement my windshield.

In Florida you can opt to create an EZ Pass account by just using your license plate number.

On every car I’ve owned with a sunroof I’ve placed the sticker on the glass. I usually have the cover closed, anyway. Looks clean and efficient. Downside: doesn’t work if the sunroof glass is open!

due to some stuff they put on the windshield, it is in the manual where the ideal place to put it or you can experiment the best areas you prefer …
