I am just checking to see if Cross Traffic Alert is a standard feature on the 2020 GLE350. I didn't see it but it may be part of another feature. I thought it may be part of the Active Parking Assist feature but not sure.

I currently have a 2020 GLC and Rear Cross Traffic is part of the Parking Assist Pkg so I was thinking in the GLE, it could be part of the Active Parking Assist standard feature. I would think at this price of a vehicle that Cross Traffic would be a standard feature.
The features in the Drivers Asst Plus are more advanced and not needed for most drivers.

I saw that but didn't know that it included Rear Cross Traffic. Are you sure it does?

Yes. I have that but not the other optional nannies. First time I was backing out into the street and it slammed on the brake I thought I had hit the car next to me!

If you are in Canada, 258 Active Brake Assist comes standard on both the 350 and 450 as well as 273 Rear Cross Traffic Alert.

Anyone know if the rear cross traffic alert is just a visual alert or audible chime/sound? I reversed yesterday with an oncoming car and it appears I only had a visual alert on the infotainment screen/backup camera and no audible alert.

 

I don't think there is an audible warning, though there should be. If you have the DA2 or DA3 package w/360-degree cameras it will brake automatically.

 

Got it, that's what I thought. I don't remember hearing an audible alert but I did see a notification/warning indicator once the 360 rear view camera came up as I was reversing. But agreed - there should be an audible alert but as long as it does its job, I'm fine with it.

 

I have the DA2 package with Surround View. Is this the same as the 360 view mentioned above ? Also, will this also detect a person walking or riding behind the car ?
