Ceramic coated my 2020 GLE: DIY info inside
I've been doing some extensive research for the past 6 months in regards to paint protection for my vehicle. Thanks to automatic car washes and my lack of knowledge, the beautiful sparkly white paint on my prior vehicle was looking terrible by the time I turned her in. With this new GLE I decided to stop doing automatic car washes and find ways to better maintain the paint and look of my vehicles. There are many products out there, but based on my research I zeroed in on DIY ceramic coating. My kit of choice is GYEON Syncro which costs about $180 and promises nearly 3 years of protection. I've used other GYEON products in the past, they are of exceptional quality and although pricey, they have always delivered on their promise.
The setup is as follows: you thoroughly wash & decontaminate, polish, clean, and apply 4 layers of 3 products which are in the kit. You use a supplied applicator with some suede towels, and mostly glide the product around in sections, and then wipe with a microfiber towel. The MOHS coats are the actual ceramic layers which fully cure and harden after about 2 weeks of application. SKIN is an additional glossy layer, and CURE is what is referred to as a "sacrificial layer" which is meant to be renewed roughly every 1.5-2 months, depending on the conditions your car is driven in. The entire process is very easy but you do need to move, bend, and stretch quite a lot so don't do this if you are not in a decent physical shape
.I did it as instructed and it took me about 5 hrs of actual application (prep and wash not included). First layer of MOHS took me the longest as I was learning in the process. I did the 2nd layer right after the first, starting at the panel I coated first in the process as a sufficient time has passed since I started. After the 2nd MOHS application I let the vehicle rest overnight. The morning after I applied a layer of SKIN, and that same evening I ran a layer of CURE. Altogether used the entire 50ml bottle of MOHS, the entire 30ml of SKIN, and 50ml CURE. Also around 20 microfiber towels... I covered all but glass and rims.
Right now the paint looks exceptionally slick, shiny, and rich. I will come back and update on longevity in a few months but I expect it to perform very well based on my prior experience with GYEON products as well as based on all the videos and threads I have gone through highlighting the Syncro kit.
So yes, highly recommended if you have a spare weekend and a garage available. Any questions, post here.

So it looks like it's not only the initial application fee, there's an annual maintenance fee as well.

No scrubbing, no mitts, nothing at all. Everything just slid off, I am super pleased with the results. I didn't even bother drying the vehicle off, some water spots here and there but overall super clean. I've done GYEON VIEW on all windows, also awesome.
The GYEON Quartz Q² View I applied last October has begun wearing off on the windshield (side windows still good) so I will be reapplying that next month (so it did last an entire year!).

Beading was still pretty good on all panels. Windows were still beading like crazy. Didn't get the rims done when I got it, but look how they turned out!
10/10 will do again when my GLE's arrive.
