2020 GLE 450
2020 GLE 450 Wifi & phone connection issues
We purchased the 2020 GLE 450 a few weeks ago & love all the tech but 1 thing we are having an issue with is connecting to the wifi. My wife can get her iPhone to connect but i have no luck with my Note 8. While we are in the vehicle its like we have no data, has anyone else had these issues b4

I had no problems with my Note 9. I assume that you have your vehicle hot spot set up on a data plan.

We had the tech show us everything about the MBUX & we asked about the Wifi. She told us everything with the Wifi was included with the 2020 model. I guess ill have to check into it

WiFi is included for a 30-day trial period, but you need to set it up through the web portal.

Is there a way to set my own wifi password instead of the auto generated one? Couldn't find anything in the manual. Thx

Thanks guys, ya it was the 30 day trial that ended & the phones were still trying to connect to the wifi but couldnt. We had to hit forget for the wifi to stop searching. What would b better paying 20 for their wifi or getting a hotspot from Verizon

I'm not sure how to answer your question. Since my cell provider is AT&T it only cost me $10/month to add the vehicle hotspot to my Family Share plan. However, after four months I did not use it at all, so I just canceled the service on Friday.

I would look at how you plan to use it and the "convenience" factor. The Verizon hotspot would be another device in the car, but you could move it elsewhere. Paying $20/month leaves you with no additional devices which may be more convenient. I have no idea what the Verizon hotspot would cost you.

By the way, the $20/month will probably end up closer to $26/month when you add taxes and fees. My $10/month ended up at $13.69.

I am wondering whether the in car LTE will support 5G speeds once they start rolling out the network.

It will not. It does not have a 5G radio.
