2020 Mercedes 450 GLE Premium+
MB Website

Hi - I am looking to purchase a new GLE to replace my existing GLC but on checking the MB UK website this morning, I am no longer able to configure a new GLE car.

Can anybody please advise why there is no longer a 'configure' button for this car? Is it because a revised spec is about to arrive?

I hope that is what it means as the choice is very limited at the moment, I am hoping to make a decision in the New Year and waiting for the update to the range.

Happens regularly with website, configure button will reappear with no changes to what you can configure.

It does seem to have been removed deliberately, other models are working OK.
GLE and GLS are offline. The GLB is not listed yet.

Every now and then models cannot be configured, when they come back on there haven't been changed, don't know why it happens but does regularly.

Configurator back up, only change I can see is driving assistance now part of premium plus pack, no change in colours, trim or wheels. Off road pack has disappeared and AMG53 added.

Off road pack is still there and now can have 5 or 7 seats for 350, etc.

Premium plus is now £7,000 but now includes 22" wheels. Not sure they were there before?

2020 Mercedes 450 GLE Premium+
The updated MB (UK) website show there are a number of changes to the GLE spec as mentioned by Discoveryman and Philamg. It is now possible to configure a GLE again - the 'downside' of the changes for the GLE 450 I was considering is that I can't spec with an off-road pack, and the 22 inch wheels are now standard, where I would have preferred the 20 inch for comfort, but this is not an option. To have the off-road pack (and 5 seats, as I don't really need the 7) i would need to go for the 350d. Also both tech packs now seem to have either been integrated in the Premium Plus or dispensed with altogether (HUD for instance). Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

I think the UK is being starved of choice and being limited to a few fixed options compared to the USA which seems to have great flexibility with options.

Not sure of the reasons, but hopefully will get better as production ramps up? I personally am interested in a car with a light interior or at least not black/black as we have at the .moment.

I have a feeling the configurator is wrong, on the 450 it shows 2 wheels and both are 22 inch, doesn't add up. Can't see any reason why you can't have off road pack on 450, mine has it.
My car has black/white nappa leather, sure it will reappear.
Agree about 5 seat option on 450 but imagine 7 seat one will stay and electrically adjustable rear seats with it are great.
Can't believe HUD pack isn't available, doesn't make sense.

Sussex driver, don't worry about 22 inch wheels, they are super comfortable with air suspension. I would check with a dealer to find out what is available on car as configurator doesn't make sense.

Totally confusing, it shows the towing package as available on all models except AMG line and AMG line executive - ALL UK models are AMG line!

I find their "labeling" totally confusing. You have AMG line which are the lower spec models, then you have Mercedes AMG which are the more high performance models.

I kept misreading the brochure initially and did not spot the subtle difference.

You need Premium or Premium Plus for the towing package, I guess it is because you need one of the options in the packages such as cameras?

The best bet is to go to dealers with what you want and see what you can get, configurator and brochure are confusing.

Ha ha you must be joking!
I was there today and not impressed with their product knowledge
The brochure is good as long as you read it very carefully and understand that Mercedes ( in the UK at least ) build up the model name as you add packs.
I am certainly used to choosing a model in the range and options are listed as add ons.

Good to see the hybrid listed but no pricing information.
