2020 GLE450. What are you guys getting MPG on highways

So I am gonna bite the bullet and re-order the GLE450 loaded after MBUSA @#* up my first one and couldnt get it to me after waiting all year.
I want to know what MPG are you guys getting at cruising speed 75-80 mph with the GLE450 and have any of you guys gotten more than 500-550 miles on a tank with 90% highway driving? I love my 2015 X5d but its getting old with 95k on the odo and want to replace it but the torque and the MPG is amazing at 31 mpg highway,

I'm not very heavy footed, I find that I get around 22 mpg in mixed driving (avg speed 25), and around 24-25 in steady highway driving. My highway numbers are based on just one long trip, 200 miles each way, and it was raining; I expected better but that's what I experienced. With a 22 gallon tank, I think 500 miles is a reasonably safe bet.

I'm getting about 18mpg right now in stop and go traffic here in downtown Boston. My last 4runner was getting below ten. Gas mileage is pretty darn good for such a heavy SUV.

I am a very light footed driver, and with 200 miles so far, 90%+ highway @ 55-70 MPH, I am averaging 26 MPG according to the car, and 57% fuel remaining (and 310 miles in range). I did idle the car a few times during the first week of ownership while playing around with the car features so the number might go up in the future (hopefully)

I'm the same as @zengshengliu, 26 mpg in Eco mode, averaging 50-75 mph. Probably 19 mpg in Sport mode.

I actually been driving in Comfort mode most of the time, and switch to Curve mode a few times to test it. I like to try out the Eco mode as it will switch off the engine on glide mode (450 model)

450, Comfort mode with 9,000 miles. I get over 20 city consistently; about 30 at 55mph; mid 20’s at 75; speeds of 80+ about 23. Wind hills & passing make it more difficult to get an accurate reading. I amuse myself driving for economy at times and find that you can easily get 2-3 better with a little effort. While it’s easy to beat 500 miles on a tank on highways I don’t know how close you want to get before filling up. I rarely go below 1/4 tank.

Eco Mode: Alternating between glide mode (0 RPM) and foot back on the gas (1000-1500 RPM) is extremely smooth and imperceptible.

You will find you will spend more on fuel compared to the diesel engine.

In Uk I get 29mpg at best, about 24 us mpg, don't know if UK cars are tuned differently as I am not a racer.

Different sized gallons.
Do like the rest of the planet and go metric. It's so much simpler. LOL

We like to use both in the UK! For instance we buy our fuel in litres, but quote consumption as MPG.

Beer is in pints, wine centilitres.

I could go on......

I typically always go to 30 miles on the range usually so I presume I will get around 550 on a tank with 95% highway driving during the work week.

ANother question is when the range is 0 miles to empty on the dashboard and you guys fill it up, how many gallons do you put in? The gas tank is 22.5 gallons.

I haven't been keeping track lately, but I have 1,065 miles on it. It was delivered with 1/4 tank of gas (which annoyed me — fill it up, man!) and I've since filled up twice. I still have 1/3 of a tank, so I'm getting somewhere around 500g/tank, which would be about 22 mpg. I've also been driving 90 percent in stop-n-go and using sport mode quite a bit.

Still better than my Infiniti QX60, which got about 19 mpg over the course of five years, driven largely in eco or standard modes.

in eu we have more octane gas. In slovakia we have a minimum 95octane gasoline. I have a 9,5l/100km fuel consumption what is 30mpg

24 mpg is normal for my 450 but I have dropped to 22mpg with snow tires and the winter mix gasoline they use here.

In term of the octane rating, the EU and US uses a different system.
The EU uses RON Octane, and US uses AKI Octane (The average of RON and MON, (R + M) / 2)
So a 98 Octane in EU (RON) = ~88 MON = ~93 AKI in US

As for gallon, the UK gallon is equal to US gallon * 1.2009499, which means the MPG will looks higher in UK than in US

But the miles on a tank is the same!. I get 23/24 mpg UK MPG which is 20 US MPG, all the US reports on here are way higher than that. Mine is fully loaded with 22 inch wheels, towing and off road pack, may account for difference.

Here are some recent stats on mine in light traffic for 42 miles at 19.1 for the Ave from start.. If you add the miles traveled to the miles to empty it is just shy of 500 miles. Average speed from reset was 18.7 mph, 232 miles, 21.7 mpg.. I can see that in heavy traffic it would be hard to average 20 because stopping and getting back up to speed kill mileage. I am running 36psi on my winter tires.

Looks more like mine Ron than some of the figures on here. Would be good to see what other UK owners of 450's are getting.

Hi Ron,

Thank you so much for posting this! So based on my experience on the older 2010 Ml350 gas which got 460 on a tank at 20 mpg and 26 gallons tank and the 2013 ML350 Bluetec at 27 mpg highway and 26 gallon tanks getting 600 plus on a tank and my current 2015 X5d which gets 31 mpg highway and plus 600 miles on a 22 gallon tank, I can safely assume the new GLE450 will get 25-26 mpg highway with good tire pressure (20 inch AMG rims) with 22.5 gallon tank assuming I fill up at the 21 gallons mark I should get 530-540 miles on a tank for work commute Mon-Fri. I have a 2016 Audi A7 on the side which is weekend only and trading that up for a new 2020 Audi RS7, WOOT.
