Off road pack

Can anyone who has the pack confirm if the protection is actually any good?
I’m assuming full body also means a sump guard - if say you hit a rock whilst off-roading, does it look like it would hold up?
it would also be great if anyone could upload some photos of the “underbody protection” as I can’t seem to find any photos.
Thanks in advance!

I’ve compared it to mine (without off-road pack) and I can’t really see any differences.
Your under-guard looks plastic like mine, can you confirm? I thought it would be aluminium.
Unless there is something extra above the plastic coverings.

Might look at swapping mine for the metal underguard - shouldn’t be too difficult, hopefully!
Is it metal the whole length of the car or just the front area?

“Thank you for contacting Mercedes-Benz Customer Service.
I am emailing in regards to the underbody protection on your vehicle.
Vehicles with the Off Road Package are equipped with a full metal undercarriage guard protection. On vehicles without the off road package this metal undercarriage guard protection is fitted only at the front and rear of the vehicle.
All Mercedes-Benz diesel engine vehicles are equipped with a noise reductive cover under the chassis, therefore the front underside of your car would look the same as a vehicle with the off-road package as the off road protection is under this cover.”
I’ve definitely got no metal protective covers at the back of my car.
Can’t tell if there’s anything under my plastic cover but might take it off to have a look if I get chance.
Strange that they said it should be the whole length of the vehicle when fitted with the off road pack, but no one has it the full length - just thought this info might be of use to you

underbody protection for the entire underfloor area". It doesn't say it is metal and I have a feeling it is no different whether you have the off road pack or not.

It’s a shame they could be any more helpful!
I would email customer service at: cs.uk@cac.mercedes-benz.com
The email I have from them states: Vehicles with the Off Road Package are equipped with a full metal undercarriage guard protection.
I emailed with my chassis number and asked them to ask their technical department for clarification.
If you can get an email from them with this info to show the dealership, maybe it will help - worth a try.
The guy who emailed me was called Jeff Brant.
"
Thank you for contacting Mercedes-Benz Customer Service.
I am writing in response your enquiry regarding your question on what the off road engineering package entails on your car, detailed above.
In an effort to provide an appropriate response for you I have consulted with our Technical Team and they have advised cars with this package are equipped with reinforced protection plates under the engine and the gearbox.
Cars without this package have just the engine underbody protection.
Should you have any further requirements please do not hesitate to contact me or any of my colleagues."
All I know is that my car seems to have just plastic protective coverings and both your and my reply states that it should have metal coverings under the engine (at least).
