What's interesting is the 580 is quicker than the 53. That's the better play, go 580. You can forget the 350, that's a 7 second 0-60 time. Lethargic at best, it's a mess.

I tend to agree except for the AMG 53 has some nice options that aren’t offered on the 580. That could change when the 2021 Configurator is posted. A larger displacement engine is almost always better, IMO.
A tune will help either model.

My guess is they will just put a software in at the end and pretty much disable the Active ride control. Makes no noise and no malfunctions.

Performance wise they are pretty close, but I suspect the 580 will feel a little punchier. The fact that the 53 gets slightly better mileage and is an AMG model would shift it to that for me if I was in that market.

My feeling about the GLE is, go with what you want and lease it. Something mess up return it.

Maybe they will send out service bulletin for 53 soon. Either a bad batch of Active ride control or some ride control module is faulty.
Any update? Hope there isn’t a week 5 or 6. The similar suspension on the Audi SQ8 says “delayed availability”.

They ask me to take the car back Thursday since the 53 is just sitting there awaiting for tech support from Germany. Right now the car makes slight noise going over bumps with new active ride sway bar. They did admit from Germany they really don’t know what’s wrong need sometime to figure it out, might end up changing air suspension. I have a feeling they already order new air suspension but parts shortage. Because the advisor already telling me he will book me in soon as the part arrive.

AMG CLS 53
I have a 2019 CPO AMG CLS 53 and I have a squealing noise at a low rate of speed and very loud when turning the wheel to left...sounds like brakes but i'm actually not braking when it occurs....It takes about 30 minutes for it to happen...does not do it at first....took to dealership 3 times and they said they cannot replicate ..seems like suspension or something in wheels....so frustrating...owned the car just a month

I experienced the same issues, the noise was driving me crazy but every time I took to dealer they said nothing is wrong. Took me finally about 4 months I finally able to replicate the sound and drive in it. I drove it really hard for a good hour before the appointment and took the tech on a test drive with me.

Do you also have a CLS 53? I tried to ''warm'' it up as well and it never did it for the tech. Did they ever figure out what it was? From research I've heard that its a manufacturer defect that the tires rub the fender once the car heats up and parts expand. Please let me know what the solution was! I am in talks right now with MBUSA corporate for a sales incentive since I have negative equity after a month of ownership. I am ready to trade the CLS 53 in for a CLS 450....

A tire clearance defect that appears only when suspension parts are warmed up enough, doesn't make sense to me.
Even if the tolerances are mm perfect, tire flex should induce clearance issues. Standing still, you wouldn't be able to slide a piece of paper between the tire and fender, which we know isn't the case.
Where did you hear that (strange) theory? Have you hit a curb?

Vibration at low speed

If my OEM wheels go back on and I still have this issue, I'm going to bring it to the dealer.
Hi, I purchased my new AMG GLE 53 in December 2020 and I have a vibration since week one when the car slows down from 50 to 35 kms/hr. Its been for 5 weeks now at the dealership and they cannot figure out what is the problem.
They checked wheels, tires, swap them, checked engine, replaced drive shafts, checked injectors, changed engine oil, spark plugs, roadforced tires and wheels.

The vibration is still there and its speed dependent, it doesn't change if you manual downshift...
Did you fix your vibration at low speed?

Has anyone noticed a vibration with their AMG GLE 53 at low speed?
Thank you

ISG problem will not register any fault on engine management system. I used to get low speed vibration accelerating out of 30km from school zone. Dealer update the system that was back in 2020 June. Your car is a later production date might already had the update.

if the dealer can check the vibration alway happen when the ISG is engaged in a test mode or some sort. That might guide them in the right direction.

At this point full year of ownership I been in the dealer in total of 5 times. The longest time the car was in the dealer 1month the other 4 times avg about 2 weeks.

drove loaner range from GLC/GLA/C/Cwagon.
best is the C wagon but I lived with it for the month. Looking forward to see what loner I will get and free coffee from the dealer.

Bro, I just purchased a freaking 2019 CLS AMG 53 lmao, and guess what, I have a vibration and humming or grinding noise from 35 to 55 mph, it is getting loudest while turning left at around 40 mph. I also took the damn car like 3 or 4 times to the dealer, they ended up replacing both my front wheel bearing, and the noise and vibration were gone.

However, new squealing noise started to happen, I'm getting crazy about this car...

Its the brakes....I went to three shops and three shop foreman rode....I traded mine in and got a CLS 450 4MATIC.....this car does it slightly for the first 4 seconds of driving but not as bad as the cls 53. The braking systems are different. My suggestion is to trade it in for the 450! Also, if you look online, you will see a **** load of cls 53's in the 2019 range...all low miles as people are dumping them.
