Build sheet lookup

I’m trying to decide if I buy the car from the dealer that has it or go to my local dealer and try to get them to get it for me. The last time I contacted the dealer that had a car I wanted and I contacted them about the build, they would not release it to my local dealer and I refused to buy it from the dealer that had it because they were such high priced jerks and I ended up just ordering. If I ask my guy to look it up they will expect me to buy it from them and I might be able to just drive and get this one if it has the options I want.
Thanks!

But also the MB build sheet is a lot easier to read too, at least for me anyway.

Just a quick thought on dealer-swaps.
I found them to be generally a bad thing to do. They also normally don't happen with in-demand cars unless you flip the bill indirectly.
First off, your dealer contacts the one with the desired car and asks them if they are OK to give it up. The dealer will only give it up if it has been sitting around for a while or if the asking dealer has a car in their inventory they really want. There has to be incentive for them. Now the originating dealer needs to think if they are willing to give up that car. On top of that, the requesting dealer will have to pay for the shipping of both cars.
So you can ask yourself why they would do that for you? The biggest reason is to help a great repeat customer and they want to help you to get the right car. You will give up negotiating leverage because they incur costs to help you reduce lead-time vs custom-build.
I have seen these work financially only if the car you want has been sitting on the lot and the dealer is eager to get rid of it and your dealer feels obligated to make you happy (due to a mistake, like ordering the wrong build, etc.)

I did find the build sheet buried on the dealers web site about 5 minutes ago too.
Thanks
