My first and only was that you could set the lift gate to open to whatever height you’d like.

This is a request, not an actual tip, but I'm curious if there's a way that I can move the information available in the right side of the central display to the left (or vice versa)? Specifically, I'd love to be able to customize my display to show the tachometer on one side and the fuel consumption on the other. Both are natively on the right side of the display.

When it’s hot, hold down unlock on key fob when near vehicle to roll down all windows. If you have ventilated seats, it also activates seat ventilation!

After you have had your GLE for a month or two browse the manual and you will find a lot of helpful info. There is a lot to this vehicle depending on Accessory options. For new owners.....

First tip-Quick Access button(center button with car symbol left of trackpad)-go through the settings for Assistance; Vehicle; Light & System. There are a number of user selections for your customization.

Second tip-Do the same with the left steering wheel control. Home button upper left & scroll through the options using the mini trackpad.

One tip for those with Air Suspension that makes me scratch my head....
You can configure one driving mode to suit your preferences to Individual or “I” mode. When done save it with your individual settings on the door panel. Then if you are in that mode when you turn off the car a banner will appear when you start off letting you return to I mode with one touch. Someone went to a lot of trouble to overthink this since as a practical matter it’s useless. It would be easier to just leave the car in the last mode rather than switching back to Comfort. Also it’s just 2 clicks up on the mode toggle switch to I mode, one click to Sport. Switch is left of the trackpad label Dynamic.
A lot of thought went into the MBUX system but the results aren’t always perfect. Since it’s a cross platform system look for more refinement in the future.

I don’t think you can. I wanted to do this same exact thing.

what do you mean save it on the door panel? Your individual mode you set up gets saved through the memory seating controls?

You can check in the owners manual, that’s the way I recall doing it but it’s been almost a year. The save function covers more than just the seats....steering column, mirror, etc.

I think there’s an option to bring up that banner every time you start the car to select the last set suspension level.

I wish there was a way the car could lower or at least the seat lower all the way down for easier entry. I don’t have that option that does that and I have no idea why a $67,000 truck didn’t come with running boards. ( maybe because AMG appearance pack) but I’m only 5’4 and it’s just a bit high for me to step right up into seat.

OK, I looked back & here’s what the manual says....page 174. I might have been doing it wrong going from memory.
Configuring DYNAMIC SELECT (multimedia system)
Multimedia system:Settings/Vehicle/DYNAMIC SELECT

Setting drive program I

# Select Individual Config..

# Select and set a category.

Switching the reset display on/off
  • Switch Request at Start on or off.
Function on: the next time the vehicle is started a prompt appears asking whether the last active drive program should be restored. If the ECO start/stop function was deactivated, an additional prompt appears asking if the function should remain deactivated.
  • The prompt appears only if the previously active settings deviate from the standard settings.
Function off: the next time the vehicle is started the A drive program is set automatically.

The A drive program would be better described as “Comfort Mode”. IMO, it’s an effort gone wrong. It’s no real shortcut and the banner doesn’t always appear. If you back out of a parking spot soon after starting the car it my not ever appear or at times it appears after you are driving and you only have a second or two to select it.

Yep the banner doesn't always appear and even if it does, it is at times buggy because it doesn't remember the full setup (e.g. it frequently "forgets" that I had Auto-off turned off).

Favorite feature is “AUTO HOLD”; pushing down hard on the brake once coming to a stop allows you to take your foot off the brake and puts the car in Park. Putting your foot back on the accelerator automatically disables Park and the car starts to move. Great when in traffic or at a long light. Audi eliminated this feature and glad to be back in an MB for this feature alone.

Nice. I didn’t know about this feature. Will give it a try soon. Love this thread. Already solved one problem related to the trunk opening height.

Pressing the brake pedal again also releases the Hold.

On this feature - this is actually "Brake Hold" where all four brakes are locked against the rotors - the transmission is still in gear - the MB is held in place with the brakes.

"Park" is different ..
