Anyone else with 2021 GLE On Order?

I'm thinking of (trying to) add on the Acoustic Comfort Package. I'm also going to get the "ppf " for my windshield applied after I take delivery at a separate vendor. Does anyone know if the MB factory "added laminations" would, in any way, interfere with the windshield protective film ? I'm assuming that the "infrared-absorbing" laminations are within the body of the glass. I've also heard (on this site ?) that these laminations might affect/decrease cell phone reception. Please advise

Are you applying PPF to the outside of the windshield or tinted to the inside? How will the windshield wipers work on PPF? Seems like a bad idea but I like the idea of eliminating the pitting from sand from winter road treatment.
Cell phone doesn’t seem any different with Acoustic but a radar detector is unless installed at the two locations without the laminate...lower center or near the mirror on passenger side.

This is the windshield film we just had installed on ours, but I don't know yet if I would recommend as they had to redo the original install (a few too many bubbles the first time). Our windshields have a history of rock chips, though, so thought we'd give this a try.

That being said, if you live in a cold climate and park outside I don't think this would be for you:
"Avoid the use of high-pressure sprayers on the windshield and other windows where ClearPlex has been applied. Do not use sharp objects such as ice scrapers or blades to clean your windshield as doing so could damage the ClearPlex film."

I see you have Continental CrossContact LX tires. What size wheel? Can you give a report on their snow performance?

I needed to have a 3rd row, so these are "run-flats". (There is no spare in the car) 21" wheels ( the AMG twin 5-spoke ) . Have not been in the snow. Hopefully I won't be reporting on that till Dec. lol. Good luck on getting yours. The worst part is having to drive like a grandpa for the first 1,000 miles. ( I've only managed 115 so far)

Congratulations! Looks amazing! I should be getting mine by the end of the month. I thought you get run-flats with the 20" wheels and the 21" wheels are non-flat even with the 3rd-row. I also ordered with the 3rd-row and 21" wheels.

Interesting. According to my build sheet and the DOG, it says the 21" wheels and 3rd-row option come with a Tire Fit pack so I'm surprised that Brian's 53 came with run-flats. Thanks, Pete.

I noticed my GLE came with run flats AND a spare tire. I do not have the 3rd row in mine and I have the 20 inch AMG/Night wheels. I know my E class came with run flats too but it never came with a spare.

She looks clean-for how long? Beautiful ride man I’m jealous right now. Your about three weeks ahead of me. When you get a chance let us know about the present build quality from Vance. I also see that you have the AMG Dynamic Package need your opinion Congrats.

Location: UK
Ordered GLE350de Prem Plus with towing package in Jan this year, initially told June delivery, now slipped to Sep. Tried to take off towing package to see if it’ll speed up the build, but told the delay is caused to the Prem Plus trim. So I’ll just have to wait.
In the UK non-AMG GLE are sold in different packages, apart from exterior colours there really isn’t any individual option you can customise. Very odd.

Were you able to negotiate price at the time of ordering? I am planning to order a GLE350 and dealer said he cant negotiate price now, it can only be done at the time of vehicle pickup after the build, is that true/correct?

You will get a more accurate response if you add your location.

It depends on the dealership. One dealership told me that we had to negotiate the discount at the time I placed the order. The dealership I actually ordered through and got my GLE 350 from I was able to negotiate the discount during the waiting time and up until the day I signed the papers and took delivery.

("Largest volume single dealership in new vehicle sales") told me that the GLE 450 that I gave him specs for would cost me $1000 over MSRP when I told him I wanted his best price. Conversely, the dealer I ordered from guaranteed me 6% off MSRP and maybe more "depending on the market when it's delivered". My local dealer also quoted me a discounted price after I showed him my order and before he ordered it. My advice is to look for another dealer.

I found it depends on the salesman/dealer. Some dealers I called wouldn't budge on the MSRP/window sticker price. Fletcher Jones MB in Newport Beach, CA

Contract hire may not be the correct term, personal contract purchase is more precise. Google PCP for accurate information. It’s a very popular way to finance a new car in the UK, dealers usually offer extra discount for PCP buyers, sometimes works out even cheaper than cash.

Ordered mine today...kinda
I missed out on the available slot my dealer had as I was still debating on buying a GLE 450 over the weekend. I picked up my wife's GLC 300 this past Friday right before close and someone picked up the one any only 450 slot they had on Saturday. So, I'm waiting for their next allocation for a 450. Good thing I have no rush on needing a vehicle. I called other dealers in the area and no one had any available spots. No one wanted to budge from MSRP either but i did get $500 off from the local dealer. Plan on getting Polar white with macchiato interior, AMG line exterior, premium, and driver's assistance packages and a few other things. Looking forward to the day it gets delivered but I should look forward to a build date first!

2021 53 AMG SUV, 2021 GMC Denali, 2015 Bentley Speed convertable
Progress- I ordered my 53 AMG SUV the first part of June 2020. I finally have a VIN and the salesmen spoke with MB and the car is finished except for software upgrades and should be released for shipment by the end of this month. I should get it in June. All the goodies except the $5K suspension option, metallic black, black/red leather and carbon fiber interior. I like "Bling!!". I like the ride of the 20" wheels and will look for after market black matte wheels as in the 22" black wheels. One year to get delivery of a new MBX. My how times have changed!
